I'm bummed that I don't use a bunch of widgets

I actually got rid of my FeedR widgets because the news one was amazing. It even pulls stories for me from my local newspaper, which...is a very small town.

Same here. The only widgets I actually use consistantly is the android agenda widget 4x1 and beautiful home. I use pandora constantly but I prefer having the progam open rather than using the widget. S2 calendar widget I would miss on the rare occasion that I need to quickly view the month. The rest are just there for show.

Haha after that video I though the EXACT same thing. I downloaded beautiful widgets for their home widget that displays weather and time. I tried the Ultimate v1.5 rom yesterday before switching to Pete's new one and the one thing I liked was about it was all the extra widgets. If I'm not mistaken that rom even included a TRUE GPS toggle widget that doesn't link you to the settings.

Well with three screens I'm toally full up with icons and widgets now. Looking forward to more screens as a I too like widgets and what they bring to this phone over the competitiion.

What I have now................
-Beautiful Widgets (Clock and Weather)
-Built in Power Widget
-News and Weather Widget (Only for news, From 2.1)
-Photo Gallery 3x2 (Family Pictures)
-Pure Calendar Widget 4x3 (Pens schedule, Pitt Basketball schedule, Personal schedule)
-Add 10 icons and I'm 100% full.

With room I'd like to add..............
-SportsTap Widget (Pens and Pitt scores)
-BatteryLife Widget
-Pure Grid Calendar Widget (Standard month calendar)

The best widgets out there:

pure messenger
pure grid calendar
pure calendar

(they all look similar to HTCs widgets)

I use the crud out of all my current widgets

Pure Messenger especially...also handy because it launches SMS, Twitter and Gmail for me.

Pure Grid because I obsess over my google calendar

Pandora widget is nice when I am listening while walking or using or other features on the phone.

Google Gennie...best news an weather

FeedR RSS...use this less and less now that I have Gennie....but still good to pull our an RSS of interest

And I constantly tweak the phone via power widget

I agree, most widgets I end up finding pretty useless. Facebook and Twitter? No thanks.

The problem with any news widgets is the same as with any ticker -- you have to pay attention to it to get anything out of it, and if you're doing that you might as well open the app. There really just aren't that many uses for widgets.

Here's what I use:

-Mini-Info, mostly for the battery status
-Pandora, though I mostly just use it to launch the app
-Weather Forecast and Calendar widget, combining them takes up less space
-I can't remember the names, but I have 3 that are the phone, messaging and gmail icons that show an unread count. Hardly widgets, though, just glorified icons.
-SetCPU
-And I HAVE a Music Sleep widget, but I've never used it.
