I'm tired of waiting for ESPN Scorecenter for Android

I agree with those who say Live Scores is the best one out there right now, though it's not great. Luckily, between MLB At-Bat and the new NFL Mobile, we'll get nice UIs and quick updating for those sports.

ESPN Scorecenter would be a nice addition.

My one wish for Summer is a Decent Sports app/widget

We not asking for alot just something that updates close to real time would be nice

Anybody install the new official NFL app? I did this morning. Seems pretty nice and has a good UI. That being said, if scores aren't added when the season starts, I'm uninstalling that mofo

I sent off a note to ESPN. I hope they will make an app for that.

I saw some article (not sure where...could have been a small note or a post even) that said that ESPN didn't want to make an official app for android because of google who refused to remove apps that use the ESPN name in them without a license to do so.
Can anyone confirm this?

Yeah, that was back in January. There are apps that are just links to the mobile ESPN site, but they apparently did take down DroidESPN, which was a 3rd party radio app, so maybe that was all they wanted.

ESPN's mobile site is good enough for me. Why does everyone need a dedicated app?

This is what I sent them.

Subject: Because ESPN is the Sports Leader

Message: It is clear Android OS competes with the iPhone. 40,000 apps and counting. Google has every app (or one that is comparable) that I once used on my socialistic-ran Apple device--EXCEPT a reliable Sports App. PLEASE develop this for Android! ESPN would INSTANTLY take over a market, a HUGE MARKET that is lacking on this one area. It is Marketing 101. It's a no brainer! WE NEED ESPN! Think of the instant revenue from advertising. Who is not looking for revenue in this poor economy?

They just responded and said thank you "regarding android recommendation", it will be "forwarded to the appropriate people".

I imagine everyone that sent a request got this same e-mail:

Dear Zargon,

Thank you for contacting us.

We value feedback and suggestions from our fans. Your suggestion regarding an ESPN Android Application is very much appreciated and will be forwarded to the appropriate department for review.

For live assistance with this or any other issue, please call Customer Care at 1-888-549-3776 (ESPN) between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. EST.

Regards,

I had Sports Tap for a little bit, then dumped it...worthless, like most of the others....but if you are looking for baseball scores, i have been using an app called Baseball Scores, seems simple..lol.....scoring seems pretty close to being live most of them time from what i can tell....

Thanks for the Baseball Scores tip. That's mainly what I'm interested in right now anyway.

For those who have not emailed or have not gotten a reply, here's a more direct way to contact them:

[email protected]

That's the address where the replies come from. This way, you can skip filling out the form from the website I showed you.

On the other hand, it might be read faster if you did go through the contact site and specified the right categories (Category: ESPN Mobile, Item: Mobile Applications, Topic: iPhone - ScoreCenter) so they know right away what you're asking about.
