Inverted apps... what's missing?

thanks

Take ur time. I did post the apk a few posts back had posted both IM and mail. IM is the top apk i posted post79 i believe it is. Again thank u and tame ur time i see ur busy

snead, what apk manager are you using? I'm running 4.9 and its really starting to irk me. Lately, when it comes to non framework apps, it will let me edit everything except whats in the layout folder. If I edit the layout folder, it recompiles fine but FC's on my phone. However, if I edit values folder or drawables folder, it works fine. I am thinking very seriously of reverting to 4.8 or 4.7 but I thought I would ask what you use first.

I use 4.8, I have only used 4.9 to do Gmail and I loathe it!! I do use 4.9 just to decompile apps when I am themeing so I can easily transfer images when updating a new release... that way I can have two fws open at the same time...

snead and jatx use 4.8.... all i needed to know.. :)

Makes my decision easy.

ok, um... can someone post or mail me 4.8? I find links on the net but when I go to them, it's 4.9.

OK, I think the Yahoo Mail app doesn't like me. Now using 4.8 and it still doesn't like my layout folder edits. I tried to simplify it a bit for testing and just edited one hex code. Recompiles fine but FC;s on the phone. Tried it unsigned and signed (option 12).

OK, moving on to option G (since plan a,b,c,d,e and f didn't work..lol)

I never use option 12. Here is my personal method, it may seem like overkill, but it works for all data apps I have tried........
Option 0
Option 9
Make edits....
Option 11
Delete something.apk from modding folder
Rename repacked-unsigned.apk to something.apk
Option 1
Option 3
Select 2 for regular app
Option 4
Option 5
Option 6.....
Done.......

I assume I can skip option 0 there since I just downloaded the app on my comp from sneakey posting it ehre?

So you are editing the app, resigning it as if it were for root users, then extracting and and zipping and signing it again for non root users? and then installing it? Is it going into the /system folder or/data folder that way?

Also, does it end up names whatever.apk or com.blah.whaterver.apk?
