Is ~256MB of data usage when idle, per day, normal?

Makes you wonder how AT&T calculated that 98% of its users stayed within 2GB of data per month. If you download more than 65MB per day in a 31 day month, you'll be over your allotment. 65MB isn't all that much if you think about it. A few emails with attachments or in html format, some light youtube, music streaming and surfing each day will definitely put you over the new AT&T limit.

No telling. You need to determine what your baseline is and it probably has no relevance to anyone else unless they happen to have the same usage and apps as you. Off the top of my head, it does sound a bit high.

I used less than 256MB all month. .

That seems way to low for a Droid.

It is what it is...

Like I said, on a daily basis i'll use it for some light web browsing, facebook updates, maybe update a market app, google maps, and some slacker radio streaming.

I don't use email much, so i'm not downloading attachments.... 256MB a month is 8.5MB a day. If i'm doing anything serious on the internet, i'm using my laptop.

Just out of curiosity, how do you hit 6GB a month?

do it all the time myself... I do almost all my web browsing from my phone... download all kinds of stuff. I only really use my pc to game. the web browser is so convenient... i have a netbook and laptop, but the laptop battery is deceased and the netbook well, the droid battery lasts quite longer and the droid web experience is quite excellent. There are all kinds of chat programs running. roms downloading, files updating, news updates. it's really a pocket laptop. by far more customizable than any counterpart. excluding other rooted android devices. I bet we will soon see phones booting windows xp with the new intel x86 chips coming out. God damn man I remember my pc in 1998 was 550 mhz lmfao. if you only download 250 megs per month, ur not using it right.dancedroid
