Is Chrome any better than the stock web browser?

I have found the stock browser to be perfectly fine but people say in reviews how Chrome is the best without backing it up. Am I missing something?

i have the same bookmarks on my laptop, my tablet, my desktop, and my phone


firefox on the phone sux

dolphin browser is my second favorite there are great plugins

Chrome is awesome. Stock is the best browser I have yet to use on a mobile phone. I love chrome but stock is slightly smoother. Chrome's tabs and swiping is definitely better.

I used Dolphin HD beta for a bit and I'd have to admit that Its faster than chrome. But!!!! Chrome gives you a more desktop browser by some of the little things it does. A lot of of times dolphin wouldn't let me insert text in certain fields on websites which irked me. Chrome on the other hand does. I love it. About stock though I rarely use stock browser. I should give ICS browser a shot. Its great on tablets though.

This is why I kike chrome over stock. In a forum page with multiple pages I just touch the area of the page numbers and it zooms that section.

Chrome is much better at HTML5, as the stock browser scores 280 +3 bonus points. Chrome scores 369 +11 bonus points. I am talking about the test at html5test.com

Tried them all with the exception of the stock ics browser.

I keep going back to dolphin for a mobile browser.

I've never seen what's so awesome about chrome. On my laptop I use firefox over chrome every time.

There are those folks that will say anything Google puts out is better than anything else...I guess that is normal in an Android world.

I think that Chrome is better than the Google made stock browser because Chrome is made by Google. :dry:

Nevermind, i went into google sync settings and my browser box wasnt checked. Dont really need chrome now and the stock browser seems more stable.

Stock browser isnt bad... much better than my X... but i mainly use dolphin mini... no flash on chrome so i dont use it

I have Jelly Bean on my Razr Maxx, and have gone back to the stock Browser from Chrome. Chrome was just too slow. I did prefer the UI of Chrome, but not enough to overcome the lag. It even made Swype slow to respond.

Google Chrome was running in the background and killing my battery so I froze it with titanium backup and problem solved and using the stock browser. Good luck with whatever you decide. The stock browser works great for me. Thanks, Matt

Same here. After the jelly bean update tried chrome but it was so slow and laggy. I went back to the stock browser.
