Is it possible to unblock the Droid X?

hello everybody,

I'm new here and with the phone technology in general, so apologies for any mistake I could make.

To business: I live in Argentina (south america) and I want to acquire a Droid X
but I don't want to sing any contract with verizon or any other company, because I would be using it in my country. So I want to know if it's possible to unblock or unlock (don't know the difference) to use it with other carriers (such as a company of my country)

That's all. If it has already been answered or there is a post I didn't find, I will understand if the post if deleted, but please link me to that post or guide.

Thanks all!

I can't wait to read your helpful answers dancedroid

I'm not exactly authoritative on this subject, but I believe that because the Droid X is a CDMA phone, it won't work anywhere but Verizon. It does not use a SIM card.

If your carriers are cdma then you could switch carriers. Just takes some doing. There is a write up of how to go from Verizon to cricket or metropcs over at droidxforums. If I can find the link I will post it. I don't know why you couldn't do it. If I am wrong someone please correct me.
