is it too late to get a thunderbolt

Uhhh....its closer to being junk than not.

I don't know how some people got so lucky as to have these thunderbolts that magically have no problems and a large portion of bolt owners have major problems.

But I've been through 4 and all have the same device crippling problems. So as far as them being junk...I don't think he's out of line by calling it as it is.

Uh...Large portion of people? How do you figure that? I really hope your not using this forum or ANY other forum that people are complaining about their phones. Cause that might make up to 2-5% of TBOLT owners.

The dude IS out of line. Its his exp and does not speak for others. His statement was applied to ALL TBOLTs.

Me and two coworkers and a friend got the TB at the same time and none of us have experienced any major problems. I had a couple random reboots which magically disappeared after a factory reset. None of us are rooted. I may root soon, but I can wait for GB, and Netflix. Battery could be better but I got the extended and love the extra weight/bulge.

Only wish the updates were quicker. Other than that it's awesome. It's not junk, and it's not gonna be the best in everyone's eyes but to me, it's dang close to perfect.

Everyones opinion is going to be different. Some may like the phone as is, some may say to root it, and others just don't like it. But the op has asked a simple question, and if you don't have any POSITIVE feed back for he/she simply move on and do not reply.

I got my TBolt a few weeks after it was released. I am not rooted, and have stock battery. I'm a moderate user. I've had a few random reboots but it's not a ton of them. I assume this will be fixed with the new udpate. And my battery has been just fine... but I am in a 3G area. But I really love my phone. Some may not, but you are going to have that with any phone. I'm pleased with my choice and don't regret it! :icon_ banana:

I wouldn't say it's too late, especially if you want to take advantage of unlimited data for your next contract. The MR2 update has solved many, if not all of people's problems with their phones and things will only get better with Gingerbread.

The only phone I would take over a Bolt is a Galaxy S II, but considering that still has no release date and is coming after July 7th, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Well, not exactly a theme, just sharing some ideas and doing a little work. Bored of course did pretty much all of it. I am only contributing a little...and hopefully some of my work will be in the ROM. .

I may offer some minor mod packages for the ROM....but it wont be super extensive like Caelum. I pretty much created hundreds of images for that theme.

HTC sense UI is about 10x as many images. So you could imagine how much work one person creating an entire theme would be.

not junk at all but youre entitled to your opinion. my thunderbolt has never had one problem of any kind except for the battery, but thats eaisly fixed with a good rom and kernel, now i can get two days on 3g

Its reliable without rooting and the updates.

From my personal experience it was reliable as a phone except for the battery life until the first update screwed everything up. The GPS was never reliable though. The new radio updates look like they fix these issues for most people but they haven't released them yet.
