Is the Google Android logo 'stolen'?

Lol, the google guys are geeks through and through.

If anything I think it is a nod to that geekiness. They probably did borrow the general design as an old tip of the hat if you will.

Things like that happen in the tech world all the time. Just look at the code names some companies use for their products or look at ASIC designers who name their chips after Greek gods and such.

did we all forget that the very word "droid" and all things related originated from and is a registered trademark of lucasfilm ltd? the droid is obviously more based on the original designs of R2-D2, more evidence to support my theory you ask? how about the R2-D2 model of the droid? in my opinion, this post is alot like the movie, "23" you can twist **** anyway you want to make it seem plausible.

Trademarked? Yes. Originated? NO WAY! Lucas did not originate the word droid, he merely was wise enough to trademark it. Similar to Pat Riley trademarking the term Three-peat.

Lucas owns the word Droid, not Android...android was a regular word at the time...George shortened it to his liking and then threw a Copyright on it

This is as far fetched as claiming that Alienware "stole" their logo design from someone/somewhere else... Besides, my android looks more like Seven-Of-Nine
