Remember if works, go to recovery and factory rest. Then update.

how do I go into recovery and what about that backup assistant file I need to rename it back to apk before I do a reset?

it rebooted on its own and it is on. I need to activate it. But how do I go into recovery and is that backup assistant file still renamed or is it automatically back to an apk file

If you sbf it does all that for you.. It did for me cuz once I deleted some files and after sbf was back to stock. Recovery is to reboot and then hold power down while holding home and 4square buttons then after you see m logo, release off of power button and wait for a triangle! press search and then just follow screen instructions. But first sbf make sure you can connect.

Look up the appz you can rename because that one you renamed was one you must have.
