Is Thunderbolt worth 300?

I most definitely believe the Thunderbolt is worth the money. I've waited for a phone like this to actually upgrade from my D1. Check out some of the videos on YouTube about the Thunderbolt!!!

Time will tell I think we all still basing how we feel on speculations. For those of us who decide to get it, when you put it in your hand and use it on a daily basis then you will know.

If you want the Thunderbolt, I would hold out for the Incredible 2...it will be out soon, and it's a Thunderbolt done the way it should have been last fall...with 3G only. With the LTE issues and undersized battery, I wouldn't touch a Thunderbolt with a ten-foot pole. The Inc2 looks like a winner, even with the 4-inch screen and no 4G or kickstand. It's basically a Thunderbolt on the inside without the LTE issues to worry about.

Leon you are a smart man : )

Great advice

Why is it that folk who have no intention to ever "touch a Thunderbolt" hang out in a Thunderbolt forum trying to convince those who do want one that they are making a mistake? Is it done as public service perhaps to "save" us from ourselves or just to cause controversy for the "sport" of it?

Well, there is no way that the Bionic will be cheaper than the TB, it will be VZs flagship for a while, meaning most expensive. No android phone has been steller with battery life, but we have always found fixes to make them last at least all day. I want access to 4g speeds, and im not about to wait untill VZ charges more for it. IMO, when you realize how much you are getting with the TB, 300 really isnt that bad. And mabye it will be 250, who knows.

Due to issues with my previous phone, I get my next phone for at most $180, and that includes the Bionic.

I just think that since the Thunderbolt has already been rooted and has an unlocked bootloader, that makes it much more appealing to me than the almost certain locked bootloader Bionic! I can be patient for a phone like the Thunderbolt since I've been waiting for a phone that could replace my D1.

Guess what Blackhawk. I had EVERY intention of buying a Thunderbolt. I followed every thread about it from the beginning. I was set and ready to buy it since February. After every false start and misstep with this device, not to mention the obvious problems they are having with making the Thunderbolt an viable LTE device, you think I'm wrong in my assessment about it? Granted, it is my opinion, but I have good points about it. You have every right to go buy one if and when it ever does come out. Have at it. But I have every right to voice my option about it, talking about it's 3G companion(Inc2)is not too far off topic really. I mean come on man. Relax a little and let's just talk openly about options and opinions about the subject. The thread IS about whether or not the 'Bolt is worth spending a boat load of money on. My reasoning was the Inc2 might possibly be a better choice, especially if your not in an LTE area. I'm not, so the Inc2 is a good choice, plus it'll probably be cheaper than the 'Bolt.

I vote for the X. 4.3 inch 1gz processor. No need for 4g since my area won't see it for years.

So is there talk that if you get a Tbolt before the tierd data plans start you'll get grandfathered in to unlimited 4g?

That was a pre-production unit. Who's to say that the production model isn't locked down tighter than a Catholic Nun?

I guess it does come off as negative but its clearly not my intention and I don't believe leons either. I guess the point we are trying to drive home is that why pay for an LTE device that you can't use in your area when a much better option will become available. Over the internet its hard to convey a thought or idea without hearing its actual intent.

Anyway I hope you understand I mean no ill will and things get lost in translation.

True, but from what's being said (if we can believe anything we hear anymore, lol) its going to be relatively the same. I hope.
