It's been out for 2 weeks now...as things stand now, are you keeping your Droid?

Definitely a keeper. This is the best, most enjoyable smartphone I've ever owned (the worst being the iPhone 3g I had- it was very unreliable and crash prone. And the updates only helped a little). Also, I've been lucky to not have had any of the problems others seem to be having. GPS is flawless, phone reception /performance is excellent as expected. No reboots or weird glitches. Even the battery performance is better than expected. It's hard to really ask for more. Love it!!!!!

coming from the storm i am in heaven...have been using blackberries for over five years and never thought i'd switch...but the droid is the best phone ive ever had hands down!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like I'm the only one here that dislikes the fact that being a "smart" phone, it will not auto-answer and does not have voice dialing when connected to BT. This alone makes it worthless to me while driving. The phone itself is GREAT! I am looking forward to any and all updates to the OS and/or firmware to see if this is fixed. But the lack of BT functionality made me decide to return it and re-activate my LG Env.
After updates, I will consider buying it again.

I have not really found this to be a huge problem, All you have to do is hit the microphone icon on the google search and say call "bob mobile" and off it goes. Matter of fact, it is way more accurate it selecting the right contact to call then the voice dialing I had on my bb! So far I am loving this phone!

I switched from a jailbroken iPhone I was using on T-Mobile to the Droid. I like the droid a lot. I'm just starting to get down to the nuts and bolts of it. After much reading, and seeing that ahome and openhome weren't saying anything about 2.0/Droid, I bought GDE, installed a few nice themes, bought Beautiful Widgets so I've got the big clock and weather on my home screen. I do wish I could use all those awesome ahome/open home themes with GDE, there's only about 10 themes for GDE.

I gave my wife my Garmin Nuvi GPS because I got the car mount for Droid and the built in NAV is good enough for the rare occasion that I need directions.

I was nervous at first because of the camera, but then it started working and so long as they fix with Dec. 11th update, it's fine.

I slightly miss pinch & zoom but I'm already over it. The onscreen keyboard sucks compared to the iphone, if I hear it's working, I'll by a better keyboard app. The slider is ok, I had T-Mobile MDA, Blackberry's and Sidekick over the years, this is one of the weaker slide-out keyboards but it's fine in a pinch. Since I'm used to the iphone I'd just prefer improvement in the onscreen keyboard.

By the way, is it me, or is there absolutely NO question mark (?) on the slide-out keyboard?

As for apps, I like some of what's there. Hi AIM is good enough. Pandora and Shazam are fine. ShopSavvy is neat. I'm glad I they just released TripIt, I use that because I travel a lot. New York Times sucks but it sucked on iphone too. Where is useful.

Does everyone use Dolphin for browser or is the 2.0 browser as good? So far it's been fine for me.

BTW I'm a gmail, google voice, and MS Exchange corporate user, have all set up and all work nice. Improvements are certainly there for the taking. Had to DL Corporate Directory to look up Exchange email addresses, that should be built in to the email client.

The big fall-off is games. I looked at a few of the games and they're no where near the level of iphone. Madden 10, Quake 3, even Monopoly was awesome. The Monopoly version for Android is weak and games in general seem weak. I need something to do when I'm in the can at work!!!

Those are my thoughts so far after about 2 weeks of having it.

definitely keeping it

the best pda phone i have ever had

and i have had most of the higher end ones
xv6800 storm samsung omnia etc.

love it

Its a keeper.

It is a keeper! There is nothing wrong with the Moto hardware. Adroid 2.0 is new and it is still better than all the phones out there. There is an update on 12/11 that will fix allot of issues and improve the phone/OS in areas we have not even thought of. I love the fact that you can make useful widgets. Try that on an Iphone. There is no map for that :)

The ? key is there...The Question Mark on the slide out keyboard is between the L and return key. You have to hold down the shift key first (shift key is below the A key). I am -ing this phone!!!!!!

I love my Droid! The only problem I see is the GPS not working. But Im not the only one, sounds like all of the former Alltel people in SW Florida are having the same problem!! :/
