Keep MAXX HD or return?

I have enjoyed my maxx hd, but it's back in the box and going back to Verizon. They're not getting a dime from me until they can correct their issues instead of basically telling me to go pound salt. I'll deal with my nexus for awhile longer

I ended up returning the MAXX HD and went back to my Thunderbolt. There's something about the Thunderbolt that I keep coming back to, I love the display and the way it fits to my hand. The MAXX HD with it's hard, straight edges makes it uncomfortable and difficult to hold, and when it's in your pocket it's extremely obvious there's a huge phone there, unlike the TB which has rounded edges.

I don't know why all the new phones have horrible displays that have a green or blue tint when not on full brightness, it drives me crazy. The Thunderbolt is pure white even at the lowest brightness.

I'm waiting for either the Note 2 or HTC's 5" phone.

That tint drives me crazy as well and is the single biggest thing preventing me from buying the Maxx HD. I didn't notice it on the Note 2 so that's probably going to be the one I buy.

You think with the Maxx in your pocket is giant compared to the TBolt!? And then you want the Note 2 and HTC DLX??? LMAO talk about contradictions...

It's not about the size of the phone, it's that the MAXX HD has extremely hard and straight edges, just like the iPhone, which really stands out in your pocket. The GS3, Note 2, HTC DLX, etc. have rounded edges.

What issues?

What issues?

Nothing with the phone itself, it's a beautiful device, but here's my issues with Verizon currently;

Back in August, Verizon replaced my OG Maxx with a CLNR OG Maxx. I boxed up my defective one (Front facing camera stopped working, didn't even have the option to switch to it in camera mode) and immediately dropped it off at Fed-Ex. I did what I was supposed to do and didn't give it a second thought.

A few weeks later, I started getting texts from Verizon prompting me to send back my defective device. I didn't think anything of it because I've gotten texts like that before when I've returned devices and everything has been ok.

A few weeks before my September bill arrived, I got a text from Verizon saying that my account had been charged the full retail price of the device for not returning it.

I panicked and checked my account balance on my verizon account online, everything was fine, it was my normal amount and I didn't think anything of it.

I paid the bill and never gave it a second thought.

October came and so did my October bill, to the tune of $793.XX because Verizon charged me for "not returning my device." I called Verizon and they were more than willing to figure it out. They put in some kind of request at their warehouse and told me they'd call me back in a few days with the results. A few days later, they called me back and told me that it was their mistake and that the charges would fall off my account by the time my bill was due.

Sure enough, the $649.99 charge for the phone came off my account a week or so later, leaving me with a balance of $143.XX. This is not my normal bill, and upon checking my specific charges on my account, I found that I'm still on the hook for the taxes associated with the $649.99 that was charged to my account.

I called Verizon who told me that there was nothing that they could do and that the tax amount would be credited back on next month's (November) bill. I told them that I'm on a budget and was not prepared to pay $143.XX instead of my normal ~$88. They told me that they were not responsible for the taxes and there was nothing they could do. I then asked them why I'm on the hook for something that was entirely their fault, and they apologized and repeated that they could do nothing. I asked them to credit my bill for this month and they told me that they couldn't credit my bill this month for something that is being credited next month and that they "have to have a reason to credit my account." I told them that the reason that they should be crediting my account is because they made a mistake that I'm now on the hook for financially.

I know I'm just a drop in the bucket to them and my $$$ doesn't matter too much in the big scheme of things, but as far as I'm concerned, they're not getting another dime from me for equipment, accessories, etc, until this issue is corrected. They really haven't done much to earn my business and my $$$ for the phone I just purchased.

Sorry for the long read, I didn't intend for this to turn into a complaint post.

Well I had a few android devices from a Droid, Droidx, Fascinate and the Incredible which was an incredible batttery eater, and then went to the bitten apple (iPhone4/s and iPhone5).
Stood on line and got the iPh5 which I had for about a month, and well I got bored and thought the amount I paid (full retail did not want to loose unlimited data plan) was just to much to feel this way.

Anyway I didn't know what I was going to use as a device since I came from a iPhone4s so I visited the Verizon store at which time I found the Razar Maxx HD which had just been released a day earlier.
Purchased it (again at full retail) and back to the Apple store I went to return the 5.

I got to say I really like this Razr Maxx HD, battery is GREAT, quality of the device is GREAT, the OS is better then my last android device (gingerbread (wish they would stop with the deserts though)).

Now the transition hasn't been totally smooth, I have had problems but they were not the Razr Maxx HD or OS's fault...
I had to burn up my phone lines with tech support trying to figure out why I was not receiving text messages from iPhone users, and since there are SO SO many that was a problem.
After 3 days and tier 2 technical support, and stupidvisors only pointing the finger at Apple fir iMessage (I know what the problem was I just wanted to know how to fix it) I finally figured it out all by myself..
I needed to remove my iPhone4, 4s, and 5 from iTunes as authorized devices so that all the iMessage devices would stop trying to find a path to my iMessage device (that I no longer had).

I do miss the shortcut functionality that the iPhone offered (when I typed "n0" and a space, it would enter "n0m0n").
I found a few keyboards that offer something similar, but 1 of the wins returning to a android device was that I like swype.

Anyway the Razr Maxx HD has captured my attention and I like it enough that I don't regret returning the iPh5.
GREAT device and I'm happy with it...

Still trying to get used to the differences between iOS and (what's the desert of the day again???)...

Thanks

Key Lime Pie. No, really.

It's dessert.

oh my god @ the camera griping. JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESUS. I get this is a primary means of taking pics for some of you people, but is that pic at the bar where your friends are all being really cool and making faces really important to capture?

Use a real camera, this is for "surprise" pics. I cannot believe the camera is the main thing getting grief, you know it's a good ////smart - phone//// when that's the chief complaint.

Report them, that's utter garbage.

Some of us like phone cameras, even though I have a Canon 7D it's extremely impractical in many situations. If I'm spending $650 on a phone, I want it to have a good camera.

People that are griping about the camera must be comparing it to iphone 4s, 5 or 3gs. Any other phone released on VZW has a camera that is as good or worse than what the Razr HD has. I have been very satisfied with this camera. It's better than fascinate or Dinc2 and pretty much as good as the Charge. It's better than any camera released by Motorola in the past (not much experience with OG razr but way better than bionic).

The GS3 has a much better camera. Other than that, not many new phones have been released recently.
