[KERNEL] Kernel (deprimed_test) - Break It If You Can

Kay. Thanks for all your help. I now have the deprimed kernel finally setup and I lightweight only know how it works. Lol.

I tried out the link2sd flashable zip and i tested it out by linking one of my apps to the sd card. I then rebooted but the app was gone so I had to hotboot to get it to load. Was hoping that Prime's script would fix this issue but I guess not.

Am I supposed to flash the zip before I install the deprimed kernel? I see it says Link2SD "Pre-Installation" Zip.

Have you looked at this thread? http://www.droidforums.net/forum/cyanogenmod/129723-ultimate-apps2sd-thread.html
I have run link2SD and DTa2sd (not at the same time of course) at various times with every ROM except GPA/Bugless at one time or another. On some ROMs I like PE I had to put the 05mountSD script in init.d to make it work. Off the top of my head it seems to me for Cush I had to manually create an sdext2 and sdext3 folder in data before it would work.

Thank you! That 99Complete script actually works for me. My apps tend to load up after every reboot. Why have I never come across this thread before?

I noticed this kernel really eats up my battery. It causes a very significant amount of system usage. I went to the battery information and within 12 hours, Android OS at 46%

Is this normal?

I reboot my phone every night courtesy of a script run by the cron daemon. After every reboot however the screen comes on and stays on until manual interaction to hit the switch and turn the screen off. Is there anyway to turn the screen off automatically after reboot? Ive tried various methods but have been unsucessful. Or is there an option to prevent the screen from turning on when initially plugged into the charger?

I have to say that the combination of CM7.1 and the deprimed kernel seems to make the Droid wifi work much better than any other combo of software I have tried. I have been struggling with this thing's wifi forever. This setup is working a lot better than Motorola's or ChevyNo1's kernels.

I have been too busy to do anything but work, eat, and occasionally sleep.

I still have the droid in action so an update is always likely.

High android OS is irrelevant if not affecting battery life (I show high usage but it has no effect on longevity), try disabling sync for a while just to measure battery life without it.

This issue persisted even when I had sync off (I never have sync on). All though I do have GPS on at all times and just questioned myself, why do I have this on when I don't use anything that needs it? So now that is turned off and Android OS has been at a good 8% for 12 hours of battery so far ;)
