[KERNEL] Kernel (deprimed_test) - Break It If You Can

I'd love to see an update on Prime. Personally I enjoy the deep sleep features, and I'm also looking forward to even more debugging turned off in the new build! :)

I updated primed a week ago, pretty good but still needs work.

I'm not going to be able to get the update done today (deprimed), I'm much to tired and even let SwiftKey prediction type this for me. Please excuse the strange wording lol.
For using swift key prediction, holly crap. No strange wording that I can see. Is it better than Swype?

I like it a lot better than Swype. It remembers how you talk and can analyze your texts and it predicts based on your past conversations. It works quite well. You should try it.

Sbenson,

Correct. In root explorer the set permission box comes up as an array, 3 wide and 3 tall, with boxes to check. With SUFBS you actually have to input the number of the chmod.

Thanks for the quick responses, I really appreciate it!

I went ahead and got Root Explorer - it's great. Concerning the permissions, when do I need to worry about setting these? Is this only when creating a new file and setting the permissions to match the other files?

I edited my 20overclock file, do I need to worry about the permissions here? They didn't seem to change. I just want to clarify - again, noob here :)

+1 (and it's on sale)

I also use and love Smart Keyboard Pro, but the prediction in SwiftKey is scary accurate at times.

You do not have the option to change system permissions in Root Explorer unless you have system mounted RW, if you changed the permission checkbox then you should be fine.

I had to mount as R/W to edit the file, but I never changed the permissions. This is what they were before and after, is that right?

The 20overclock belongs in /etc/init.d/20overclock not in the / root directory.

Please note that SwiftKey uses questionable permissions no other keyboard I've seen use... even the purchased version.

I'm confused? That's where it is located, not in the root. I never moved it, i just edited right where it was.

So am I, in your permission screenshots above your in the / directory. If you were showing the permissions to my 20overclock you would have to be in /etc/init.d/

That was strange, sure enough? I just looked again and it shows /ect/init.d and the same permissions I showed in the previous image.

Should be good to go now.

Yeah, I think so.

I'm definitely new to this, I'm just trying to understand the whole setting permissions. When and/or why I would need to change/set this up.
