Kindle for Droid!

I really recommend Aldiko Book Reader. I have read two books already with it and had no problems reading the font. I really like the night time feature in it which has allowed me to ready without bothering the wifey.

I'm rereading the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan on my Droid, no problems. I've also read Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle on it without issues. I'm using Aldiko, WordPlayer insisted on setting the brightness to full (blinding me!) and FbReader seemed slightly slower dealing with a large library of books (I have 555+ on my Droid) but otherwise was fine. There's a new reader out there (whose name I don't remember) that can handle DRM'ed mobipocket books (which kindle books are). It looked ok, but I had already converted my library to ePub so didn't see the point.

This thread helped me so much!

I have Kindle for PC, and with the updated info, provided in the link by REMilk, it wasn't hard at all. After I followed all of the instructions, I was able to convert my .mobi ebook to .epub by downloading and using Calibre. I imported my e-book into Aldiko and read it!!

+1 for Aldiko (Android app) and Calibre (open source free converter program)

Yes - there is Amazon Kindle for Droid, Barnes and Noble Nook for Droid, and a Borders application for Droid. I love the Kindle because I can share books with my husband - but I tend to check for the cheapest version of any book. I do love reading on the Droid - it's light, easy to read, and back lit, which makes it perfect in the dark. Haven't read a hardcover or softcover since I installed these applications.
