KRACK Kills! Or At Least It Will Compromise All Your Wifi Traffic!

Unfortunately, the data that was stolen in the breaches I was involved with may hound me for the rest of my life. Things like my Social Security Number, my Date of Birth and my Driver's License Number aren't going to change. They'll have value to those who stole my data for the rest of my life and possibly even thereafter. Having said that, your approach may be the only one to take for folks who want to be able to sleep at night. Whether or not it proves to be sufficient in the long run remains to be seen.

We have heard about the wifi Krack vulnerability.

We use an ARRIS Surfboard modem and one or more Eero routers with Xfinity wifi.

How can we protect ourselves?

So we have to contact all three companies?

Each router will need it's own patch, at least that's how I understand it.

It would be easier for everyone if we had all of these KRACK threads together instead of every discussion being it's own thread

This thread and the one started this afternoon have been merged. Since this is the official News thread, we'd like to keep this for discussion. The third thread on this topic has been closed with a link to this thread. Merging that one would mess up the timeline because it was started before the official thread.

No offense meant to the author of that thread, it's just easier for us to promote an official News thread for further discussion.

There is no patch needed at this time for your phone

The only thing I've read about any phones is that Good is patching the exploit & the patch will come in the November security patch. I've seen no word on when other OEMs will push a patch yet.

Yep, my bad. I got it backwards, newer Android versions are more vulnerable and not less vulnerable. But the main way to stay safe hasn't changed....avoid public WiFi. This hack doesn't infect your phone, it happens at the WiFi router / source of connection. If you do that you should be fine.
