laptop not recognizing Droid

In your Droid, go to the Contacts, then Menu, Import/Export. Then you will have two or more options to either Import or Export to SD card. Try these
 
I cannot get my Toshiba Laptop running Vista Ultimate to recognize my Verizon Droid. It connected and I can see the drive but cannot open it. Is there any drivers I need?

ADB (Android Debug Bridge) is a tool (for your computer) that comes with the Android SDK that allows you to control and interface with your Android device. It is located in the tools folder when you unpack the SDK.


These are the "drivers" your computer is more or less looking for,.. (connect directly to a computer with out "mounting" from notification bar.

csmrollins. Had same problem when I first got my droid. Only way I could get the droid to mount was to reinstall my usb drivers from motherboard disc and use the motherboard usb ports. Do not use add on cards or case usb ports. I loaded every driver sugested on this site and no luck. I also avoid any other usb devices on my computer when I have my droid plugged in. If you search on this site you will find a lot of people with same problem. After hours of trying to make this work with new drivers I uninstalled the usb mass storage in device manager usb controllers and reinstalled the drivers with motherboard disc. Good luck.
