Had a visitor behind the dog house on the patio this morning, wasn't sure what kind it was but got assurances it wasn't venomous so I moved it to under my storage building so the dogs would leave it alone. About 3 feet long and very heavy for the length. Our community FB page think they are comedians. on person said it was a north texas nope rope!

Looks like it's got the triangle head of a viper...
I'd have moved him further away not knowing for sure what it was...

Too many close neighbors now for click click pow. Got a positive ID from a snake expert, Diamondback water snake. Granddaughter was upset I didn't let her keep it for a pet. Short stout body with a triangle head, cotton mouth moccasin is what I initially thought.
