It's a sad day in the Grant household, our little boy went over the rainbow bridge this afternoon. Patches Grant was 12 years old and had a very hard life. In his first two years he had to have eye surgery, back surgery and neck surgery in Oklahoma City. In the last year he has suffered with dementia, blindness and loss of hearing. Today we had to take him to the Vet and he was diagnosed with diabetes and it would be better that we let our little boy go. We gave him the best life any dog could have. Good bye Patches Grant we loved you more than humanly possible.

THank you, I think the older I get the harder it is. Have one large dog still, told the wife that we are too old to get another.

What a sweet face your other dog has. Cherish this one... And let this one know how much you love him/her... As far as being too old, it's always hard to lose a dear friend.. Prayers for your hurt and pain, it's harder as we get older and get attached as though they were a human friend/family.
Your story brings back the hurt of our last, yes last, like you said, it's just too hard, older.
Plus the responsibility.

We always had dogs and cats as members of our family. We get so attached. So difficult and sad when they reach the end of life and have to make their final trip to the Vet. I feel your pain and sadness, ggrant 3876, and will be thinking of you.
