LauncherPro Beta (SUPER FAST & SMOOTH Launcher!)

With this most recent update I move where you can change the dock shortcut and now have 15 of them, I moved from the stock Froyo to Launcher Pro.

I am not seeing the issues I am reading about in the last few pages. This is the smoothest and fastest of any launchers I've used. I'm hoping Team Chaos adds this launcher to their themes in the future.

:)

I'm running Team Chaos Froyo 2 w/Redrum 1.4 and 1.0 GHz Kernal.

Anyone else getting more FC's since the latest update?

No sir/ma'am.

LP keeps getting faster and better for me. Now that I have it all themed out how I like, I won't go back to the stock launcher or any other product. That and when the developer added one of my feature requests, it sealed the deal for me.

I'm noticing more F/Cs than normal as well. Not only that, but I'm also noticing that its really, really not working well with Widgets. Almost like it struggles to keep up with all of them.

Namely, ever since the last update, I've noticed that some of my widgets just don't update. Heck, even Beautiful Widgets will just freeze up on me and stop syncing with the system clock. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed pretty quick because it is getting extremely annoying.

Fede has been really good about quick updates, so I'm sure this will be fixed quickly. Just thought I would throw this out there in case anyone else is running into the same problems as well.

I've had, I think, my second (ever) FC since I updated to the latest version but that's hardly conclusive.

I have, however, noticed some problems with widgets lately. Mainly big ones like beautiful live weather walpaper and pure messenger widget. They don't stop working or anything, just slow my phone down noticably more than usual. This could be due to other reasons though, I haveent investigated it thoroughly because those aren't high priority apps for me.

With Launcher Pro and its recent update I get a force close every time I put my Droid in the desktop dock. It seems to run slower for some reason and like above I was having issues with widgets.

I have never tried ADW until last night and it seems to run fine and I have it set up exactly the way I had Launcher Pro, widgets and all. Is Launcher Pro turning in to bloatware?

I haven't had any issues with LP and the recent update, but I have read that a lot of others are. It seems like there are just too many features being added. Maybe he could offer one version with all the bells and whistles and another version that is very basic and fast?

Thats funny. I have had the exact opposite. I loved ADW but noticed it was lagging with all the updates and new additions. The latest version of L-Pro has been working flawlessly so far.

I went back to 0.5.4 and it's all sweet for me again. There's nothing in 0.6.0 that I need or want so I may just stay at this version. The more that gets added, the slower and more problematic things become/

Maybe I'm missing something, but somebody tell me if this is possible.

Basically what I want to do is run 3 different Homescreens, using all 15 tray icons, and spanning those 15 across the 3 screens.

So the left-most screen would have all..."tool" icons for instance. Then the middle screen would have the 5 essentials, phone, etc. Then my right-most screen could have social networking and what not on it.

Is this possible? I don't want to have to scroll through the Trays of 5. I just want them all to lock on their individual screen.

LauncherPro is the bomb.

Nope, that isn't possible. In fact, when you change from portrait to landscape (and vice versa) the first 5 come up no matter which 5 were on the screen before.

I am running bb V0.2.1 and the Blue Energy theme. I have LauncherPro saved as an app; when I go to Astro and Open App Manager for LauncherPro and hit "Launch" it says "Activity not found- com.fede.launcher" What;s wrong???

Is answering a call slow for anyone else? Since I installed LauncherPro, whenever I get a call, dragging the tab over to answer the call is super slow. I'm not sure if Launcher is to blame, but I believe it might be due to LP kicking the phone application out of the memory.

I think you're onto something in pointing to memory issues associated with this problem. But it's not a LauncherPro problem. I'm running LauncherPro and my wife is running the default launcher. Both have the problem and mine predated my adoption of LauncherPro.
