leaked 2.2 update and text messaging app problems

So i updated to the leaked version of 2.2 and there is one thing that has me upset about the stock text messaging app. First off there is a text limit per conversation now which only allows you to have 1000 texts per conversation which really ticks me off. I have alot of texts on my phone almost 6000 and i would like to kno if there is anyway around the text limit. Can I use the 2.1 text message app?

You could check into a 3rd party app such as Handcent - I do not believe it has a limit...

Or SMS backup - which would allow you to save the SMS that you have received and stay within the limits that the 2.2 has set...

SMS Backup is a must app. It is quick and effective.

Why on earth would u want to leave thousands of messages which u obviously value NOT BACKED UP????? If ur phone messed up on u, all ur precious messages would be gone forever.
