Leaked 5.7.893 --> Stock 5.5.886 --> 5.5.893 NEED HELP

The brief history on my Bionic:

Rooted w/ for3v3r root
Updated to the Leaked 5.7.893
Installed PURITY 2.4 (I think this is my problem)
Got word of the OTA update
Used R3l3AS3DRoot to revert back to stock 5.5.886
Received OTA & downloaded
INSTALL FAILS!!

HELP PLEASE!!

Current Phone Info:

System Version: 5.5.886.XT875.Verizon.en.US
Baseband Version: CDMA_N_03.1C.57RLTEDC_U_05.15.02
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-g68606e6 vwm736@il93lnxdroid43 #1
Build number: 5.5.1_84_DBN-55

your issue is that you used the leaked 5.7.893. That changed the kernel and is why the install fails b/c it is not completely stock. The installer checks for stock everything, all bloat in place, stock (5.5.886) kernel, baseband, etc, etc. There is nothing you can do about it.

I'm in the same boat as you, I probably should have waited for the OTA but I got impatient and flashed a leak.

the leaked 5.5.893 has the same MD5 as the OTA, so if the same holds true for 5.7.893 and 5.8.894, then you're probably fine sitting on those... assuming a bit there, but still...

So there is nothing we can do? Ever?

And if it is true that the 5.7.893 update is the same as the OTA 5.5.893 that really sucks because I still have HORRENDOUS 3G drops

:disappointed:

well, not that this helps, but I meant the 5.5.893 leak is the same as the 5.5.893 OTA, so theoretically the same would be the case for the 5.7.893...

as far as I know, no there is nothing we can do except for wait for the next update to come along.

What I understand from reading tons of threads around here, this OTA is just a patch, which is why it checks everything to make sure it is stock. If it were a full update, it would be overwriting everything anyways so it would not check to see if things are stock or not. So in theory, the update to ICS will be a full update that will allow people from different builds (leaks and OTAs) to update to the newest one.

no one knows for sure what the solution will be, but this is a very talented group of devs who typically can come up with a workaround for most of the problems that people come across.

Same situation as you. Still have signal drops and whatnot. Really hoping someone can find a workaround. :(

Moto is claiming that this update was a "complete overhaul" and a big part of it was fixing the 3G radio...so then it wasn't fixed as stated??

I'm probably going to re-update to 5.7.893 then from my current stock. I just have 3G MAYBE 1/2 of the day. That's if I'm lucky.
