It works for me. Try putting it on the charger and you may have to tap the power button once or twice. Earlier today when I put it on it came on the first time I tapped it went from dim to bright second time it went off.

That method is the only one that lets me turn the screen off at night and I just found it today. Dev options don't work for me and pushing the button when its charged tends to make my watch freeze up for a while. I really think its issues in 4.4W1 that needs to be fixed by Google.

Android wear definitely has room to grow. I can do an article on the issues with android wear. But like I said, if you are and android enthusiasts and are willing to go through the growing pains this is a good buy. If you want stuff just to work then either hold off until the second and third evolution of android wear or wait until the price drops.

I think I'll wait for the 2nd Gen Moto. Hopefully, they will update the hardware and lower the price..

Gartner Group had this to say...

"According to Gartner analysts, who have also predicted Android-based smartwatches could retail at an average price of $30 by 2015 as OEMs capture the consumer mass market in China and internationally."

“Chinese vendors might well be able to bring Android Wear based smartwatches to very affordable price points around $30 with decent designs and sensors—driving mass market adoption.”
