Liberty 1.75

"@jrummy16: Checked out gb.. It's pretty cool stuff.. ok.. back to liberty."

omgosh

IS THERE SOME SORT OF CRYPTIC MESSAGE HIDDEN IN THAT TWEET THAT REVEALS THE RELEASE DATE OF LIBERTY 2.0????

jk

Or maybe 2.0 on GB?? :-P

Gingerbread can't be rooted by known methods. Liberty will remain on Froyo for the time being.. and will get here when its ready. I literally just finished my adjustments to the default theme which is getting a small taste of Honeycomb influenced alterations. Very minor, mostly framework elements that you see a lot (buttons, status bar icons). Everyone runs themes anyways.

As for the release date, jrummy is doing a major overhaul of the toolbox alongside making tweaks to the rom itself. Toolbox looks sweet and will continue to be a major asset to the rom.

On a side note, he's got some other side projects coming (not Liberty based) that you should all look forward to.

Oh, and the ROM is definitely smoother than 1.5 ... just stop speculating on the number. Next version is next. That's all that matters. :)

lol I was insinuating that he would have rooted it by now... was only joking, of course... looking forward to the release. Any word on how he's doing btw? Obviously he's doing a lot better if he's sitting at his computer.

need liberty rom for 2.3.3 gingerbread

see Koveleski's post below

Unfortunately, now that I've experienced gingerbread, I don't see myself going back to froyo...even with how awesome liberty is. I look forward to trying gingerbread liberty if/when it comes out though.

my big concern is battery life. Do you have any idea how GB compares with Liberty etc.?

Also, is it easy to revert back to previous roms after installing GB? And where is the leak available?

Battery life is noticeably worse than liberty, but the leak is essentially a stock gingerbread rom with blur similar to the 2.2 ota. Battery life seems to remind me of the 2.2 ota as well. It performs noticeably better than any rom I've tried though.

In regards to your question about reverting to a backup...since the rom is not rooted, your are unable to boot into bootstrap/clockwork. In order to revert back to a backup you would need to sbf back to 2.3.20 then reroot and then restore a backup.

Thanks. Although I do miss some of the blur, battery life still trumps. Forgetting to set DX OC (undervolt) to set at reboot reminded me just how much more stock clock settings suck the battery down.

Others; I'm assuming the reboot issue has been isolated and fixed for Liberty with this latest forthcoming release? I'm looking forward to trying, but only if it is stabile.
