Liberty GB v0.9 data issue

Ok I'm finally on GB 2.3.3, took me all night to complete this. So now do I just upgrade to the nighties v7,v8,v9 from Liberty Toolbox pro?

Yes, but you only have to install v0.9. You don't have to install v0.7 to get to v0.8 or v0.8 to get to v0.9. Just go straight to v0.9.

So you are now on the pre-rooted stock GB build .596, correct?

If this is true, I would make a backup right now, then install LGB. So from now on, if you want to change ROMs or if something goes wrong, you can just install your backup and you won't have to SBF again, unless you get stuck in some sort of bootloop.

yes im on .596 and its rooted. whats the easiest way to back it up? Is there an app for backing up the phone. I backup up my apps with titanium but unsure what to use for my phone.

Maybe it's different on the d2, but i never had to make a backup of the gb leak. I jump around roms all the time and i just wipe data between flashing. Never had an issue

This is something that you should have known how to do before you even rooted. Are you using Droid 2 Bootstrapper to get into clockwork (you know, the black screen with green letters, where you would have went to install the 2 part rooted GB)? Go into the Droid 2 Bootstrapper, hit bootstrap recovery, when you see success, click reboot recovery. When it reboots into recovery there will be an option to backup. Just click backup and let it do its thing. Now you have a backup of your exact setup at this very moment. Think of it as a restore point in windows. Now anytime you need to "go back" to this moment, you just follow the exact same steps above but choose restore, then it will restore your phone to the exact moment you made the backup. If you have ROM manager installed you can use it to manage your backups and rename each one to help you know which is which. I make a backup before every ROM I flash, just to be safe.

I don't think it is required. I rarely flash back to my backup before installing a new ROM. It is just nice to have a safe spot to roll back to just in case. Plus, he didn't even know what a backup was, so it would be a nice thing to learn.

When I use D2 Bootstrap to bootstrap recovery & reboot recovery, the phone just boots back to my home screen, It never boots into recover for me to back it up. Maybe I should be using the DX Bootstrap?

You can try. Just turn off usb debugging first when using dx bootstrap recovery

I figured it out. I'm now running LGB V 0.9 smooth as hell on my fully rooted DX. Thanks for all the tips and advice, I have all the information noted for next time.

Thanks again

not sure if you got your problem solved the rom you downloaded in the toolbox is on the sdcard in romtoolbox/liberty/nitely you just need to add .zip to the end. You can then wipe data cache dalvik and flash in clockmod.
