Cant access /system/media

Downloaded root explorer, but when I tried to move the file into /system/media, it said it was read-only. My phone is rooted and root explorer received su permission. Any Ideas?

btw I did get the animation working by putting it in /data/local, just wondering why /system is inaccessible...
