Market won't download after installing root 588

I'm still having no luck and I'm starting to get anxious about this. What could possibly be causing this to happen between updating to a slightly new version of an OS I had and then flashing Deodex??

Can anyone else help please?

No clue...I don't see why sbfing to group didn't work...I installed 588 leak and it is still working as of now....im going to redownload my apparently and flash the crt animation and see if that was my problem, but anyway I hope someone can help you with your problem

Ok get this, I downloaded an app from the Android Market website and between my Nook and Droid X chose the X to install to. A second later it downloaded fine on my X. But still nothing in the actual Market works.

Two questions now:

Does this have to do with having two devices with one Google account? Do you have this same situation maybe?

And does it this have to do with the Market version maybe? I will try to upgrade to the newest Market from the web.

Not sure...it could be possible, I only have my gmail on this device so I wouldn't know...have you used that gmail with bother devices at once before?

Ok Market is already up-to-date. I just tried updating an app on my Nook just now and same issue. So clearly tied to my account I think.

Can anyone please help me with this now that I've found this out?

Well to update this, I kept trying things, nothing was working still. So I left it alone for a while, came back and of course all of a sudden, downloading works again on both devices with my account. I have no clue why or how, but all I can think is maybe something needed to work itself out, or some kind of outage with my account. I really don't know.
Ugh it pisses me off still trying everything and now it works and I have no idea how, because nothing I tried fixed it..it was literally on its own.

Found out that if you go to the market.android.com page, log in and install missing/updated apps this way, it works.

I reset to factory last night in an attempt to figure this out. It's almost like we're getting locked down or something.

Wow ive been having this problem with the first GB leak, when i went back to Froyo, went back to the new GB leak, and now back at froyo again. So many problems with this DX..Sometimes i feel like selling it.

Not sure what happened, but it is now working. I uninstalled latest update for market - but I had tried that before. Now, all three devices are magically working properly with market...

Thanks this worked but I don't want to have to use the web based market as a permanent solution. I hope whatever is causing the market app download problem will clear up by itself.

I have tried all the fixes and nothing works. There is something wrong with Google Market and my account because I have 2 Android phones on the same account (Droid X and Samsung Captivate) and I am getting the download errors on each phone. I filed error reports with Google. Not sure if that will help.

I got a reply from Google that said basically what I already did to my phones to fix market problem: clear cache from market, reboot, wait 10 minutes and try to download again. Did that 4 hours ago and did not work. The kicker was the last sentence of the email:
Please note that we do not support rooted devices at
this time.

Both of my phones are rooted.

So to make a long story short, I just tried to download an app on my Droid X and it worked! Did the same thing on my Captivate and it worked too. Don't know what the problem was with Google Market but I am glad it is working again. Don't think it had anything to with me updating to GB 588 because the Captivate is on a Froyo ROM.

I am the OP..this same thing happened to me, both on my X and my Nook at the same time. Eventually it just stopped happening so I don't think you can do anything but wait, unless you can contact Google like you said.

Any updates to this?

I just flashed to Liberty GB and I have the same problem. It tried Market 2.3.4 and 2.3.6 but the same issue. Download unsuccessful.

I did some research on the web and tried:
- Clear market cache
- Clear market data
- Boot into recovery, clear data cache
- Boot into recovery, clear data cache and factory reset (ie wipe data)
- Boot into recovery, clear data cache and factory reset (ie wipe data), reinstall GB
- Unmount SD card, power down, remove SD card, reinstall, reboot

It just will not work. I even install Market 2.3.6 from Mobile_Sensei and no good either.

On a reboot after a factory reset, it will download in the background some of the apps but the reset have to be installed through the web based market.

Any ideas on a fix or at least something else to try?
