[ROM] Maverick ROM v3.5 for Droid 3

I've installed Hashcode's Safestrap (v 1.08) and followed the installation instructions on the first page of this thread to the letter. After rebooting, I get the safestrap splash screen, and then a bootloop. Removing the battery does not fix the issue. Disabling safe system allows me to boot back to my original config. I have tried 3.0 and 3.5 with the same results. I searched the thread, but did not find anyone having a similar problem. Ideas?

If you recover data from a backup in CWM recovery you will experiance problems like bootloop if not bootloop then you will have other issues like forceclose and stuff missing. Use the detailed instructions below that I created for you and you should be good to go.
If you want to back up contacts and sms, use an app like Mobile Backup II and if you want to back up apps, use an app like App backup & Restore. Download and install Hashcodes safestrap v1.8 open safestrap and install recovery it should say installed and safe system not active. Reboot phone and at the safestrap splash screen tap the menu button; this will take to CWM recovery and then follow steps below.
Safestrap instructions and flashing a zip file:

1. In main menu select backup and restore, select backup, select internal sd or external sd ( I recomend external just in case something happens and you loose everything on internal sd) and it will create a back up. Go back to main menu.
2. In main menu select factory data reset and select yes.
3. In main menu select clear system cache and select yes.
4. In main menu select advanced and select clear delvik cache and yes. Go back to main menu.
5. In main select safe system and toggle safe system and yes. This will turn safe system on and create a backup. Go back to main menu.
6. Select install zip from sdcard and select choose install zip, scroll to where your zip is (rom if your installing a rom) and select it then select yes. This will flash the zip.
7. Select go back to go back to main menu and select reboot phone.
8. Sit back and relax till system is fully loaded and give it about 5 to 10 minutes to settle.
Congratulations you have just installed safestrap, activated safe system and flashed a zip or rom and good to go. Enjoy :)

Note: if safestrap is installed and you want to just flash a zip for installing a differfent theme just boot into recovery and flash the zip like you would a rom just don't need to wipe everything just flash.

I have never used CWM recovery on this device, only Safestrap.

Thanks for the instructions. Went through them twice and still having the boot loop - motorola dual core splash screen, then [safe system: enabled] screen, then reboot.

I've tried maverick 3.0 and 3.5, as well as CM ROMs and all behave the same way. Any more ideas?

Try this:

From my guide, boot into safestrap, enable safe, reboot into safestrap. wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik. system is in mounts section and dalvik is in advanced.

This shouldn't matter as there shouldn't be anything there, but its the only thing I can think of.

Yup, I found your guide yesterday and tried that sequence as well, no-go :(

There's only one thing left to do. That's fastboot to stock. Somehow something got screwed up, and that's the best way to start with a clean slate.

I'd love to, but the links to the stock ROMs on rootzwiki are broken :( Anyone have another link to 5.5.959?

Battery bar is there on top of status bar. Hard to see in the screen shot. But its there. Zoom in and you can see it.
