May 17th call Verizon

I called to cancel last week. They told me that they could not cancel because the promotion was still going till May 15th. They noted my account to deactivate it but suggested I still call to ensure that I cancel it if I don't want it. So according to the rep that I spoke to you will have to call or they will just start to bill you.

Okay, thanks! I'll call them on the 15th.

Just a heads up, you do not have to call, dont waste your time.

What happens is, if you try to use it after the promotional period, it takes you to a self provisioning portal to add the mobile hotshot paid feature. Any rep telling you otherwise is mistaken.

I find the pricing structure a bit last-year. I average 6gig a month, on moderate 3G use. Most of the time I'm actually on wifi. I don't have 4G service yet, but 3G is far too weak for me to tether anyways. In the 2 years I've been using android, I've tethered twice, because my cable went down. I wouldn't pay $20/month for 20 gig of tether, let alone 2 or 3. Specially considering a lot of the data I already pay for is ads... Those Flash infomercials are annoying as hell, and Adfree doesn't block alot of it.

Actually they dont have a tbolt plan yet they still coming up with it. The 2gig for 20 is a 3g smartphone mobile hot spot plan. Now i was told that tbolt users could purchase a 3g mobilr hot spot plan which is what they quoted you. There are some holes in their plans and I talked to someone about it today. Hopefully they solve the real issue and noy bandage the issue.

Is tiered data coming after the 15th for new upgrades? I'd like to avoid tiered data, especially if the cap is as low as 2 gb for 4G users.

I called verizon today to cancel the hotspot and the system wouldn't let him. He said because the promo now ends like June 17. And he's saying you don't have to call and cancel. He said after the deadline if you try to log on it will ask you if you want it or not. If you decline then it will automatically cancel it for you. In other words you dont need to call and cancel.

Okay, dumb question here... so do you have to try to log on and decline for it to be cancelled, or can you just do nothing (I don't use that feature).

What they charge you even if u dont use ?? I dont understand??

You Probably need to call to cancel the trial, but I am already hooked so I will let it run I just hope they allow more data for 4G.

Not true, when you activate mobile hotspot it says that it's promotional and that we have to call when the promotion ends to continue with the service. Also I've tried to remove it and it's not even a option to view let alone remove.

Why am I not using my TB you ask. The droid is where it all began.

You don't have to do anything until you try to use it again

Once the promo is over when u try to use it it will ask u to call and activate it which is now in June I work for big red one of the reasons for this is because lots of people like myself had issues with the hotspot and could not use it half the time.

I guess those who have unlimited plan can't still add unlimited 4g hotspot like a while back can they? I have it on my phone and thought about adding it to my son's phone but probably not still available.

No more unlimited data plans its starts by 2gb and up. You could root your phone and use the tether app so he could use your unlimited data.
