May Have Found Answer to my Battery Problem

I get **** for service on my Nexus S while at work but I dont put it on airplane mode, at that point whats the point. I understand that you may not have signal at your work but you may gets spurts of signal where a text or an email might be able to squeeze by. I assume you spend roughly 8 hours at work so to have your phone on airplane mode for that long just baffles me; I know you dont want to but I really would suggest investing 50 dollars on an extended battery, you'll be surprised at how much more juice you get and yet it adds little bulk.

On a side note, this is the live wallpaper I always have on my phone I get more than a day of juice.

I'm not recommending you get the extended battery so you can do all sorts of crazy crap with your phone but I mean who wouldn't want the extra juice? I mean just imagine not having to worry about how much juice you have left, that what its like with an extended battery. get one, yohu wont regret it. :icon_ banana:

Interesting that you choose to put it on airplane mode, seeing that you lose half the capability of a phone: receiving calls.

I am still waiting on my extended battery and I use a live wallpaper called "Solar Winds," specifically the "undertow setting." It's very simple and doesn't seem to have much toll on the battery. I think that this may be because it is mostly a black background. It's really mesmerizing.

I keep it on airplane mode most of the day at work because where I work there are very few places I get a signal. If I leave it in normal mode it uses too much battery searching for a signal.

So, today I tried leaving my cellphone off of airplane mode. Near the end of my workday I checked my battery usage statistics. 79% of my battery usage was "Cell Standby." The suggestion of the "Battery Manager," "switch to airplane mode to save power in areas with no cell coverage." Back to plan a, airplane mode.

What was the battery percentage like?

If you're not using it and have it in airplane mode anyway, why don't you just turn it off while you're at work?

Just curious.

Reasonable question. There are a few places at work where I do have a signal, when I'm in one of those places I take it out of airplane mode to collect emails and messages. It doesn't take long for it to start from off, but its less of a distraction not to have it scream "DROOOOID" each time,

Why turn anything off. I got a screenshot of my droidpro lasting about 30hours without charge and I used it alot as well and coulda went longer but decided to charge before a party. Im rooted with setcpu and its in the ignore list for my autokiller with screen off. Works like a charm.
