Media volume stays at zero

don't know why, but all of a sudden my media volume switched to mute and will not let me change it

i have a shortcut on the home screen to toggle from normal>>vibrate>>silent, but it is set to normal.

when i go to settings>>sound>>volume, there are multiple bars for the various sound profiles (ex. ringer, notification, media...) and the media bar is at zero. I move the slider over to increase volume, but the second I exit the volume control and return, it is back at zero.

WHAT IS GOING ONNNNN?????

I don't have your phone but I have a Droid 1 with the same issue. I had Audio Control manager installed and Power Control Widget installed. SO I started uninstalling them. Once I installed the after market power control widget which I used to toggle my sound settings the issue went away.
