Personally I'd take a chevette over a Corvette. Those cars are midlife crisis and I'm not there yet.

@ Katnipthief, I dont live on easy street nor am I in my midlife crisis, its just that if I have Topnotch phone I want the Topnotch OS. I spent my hard earned money not to be out done by a lesser phone. Im just saying......

You sound awfully insecure with your... firmware size. It's okay, it'll be alright! Firmware comes in all shapes and sizes, and in the end it's how you use it, right?
Now keep repeating that, I'm sure your girlfriend/wife says exactly the same thing... over... and over again...

I have the Fascinate, outside of the DX why would I be insecure? Would u want an expensive and great phone to only be outdone by, a inexpensive and good phone. Everyone uses their phone differently, I understand but.......

You feel like you're "outdone" and something someone else has makes them one-up on you. Relax. Beyond buying a new phone just for a firmware upgrade (which is demonstrably extremely insecure) it's out of your hands.
It's not like the android OS is running on a singular, proprietary hardware requirement (aka windows).
All these phones are running different UI's, processors, and a variety of cdma, networks, and graphics capabilities. No two are the same, and expecting disparate corporations and devices, along with disparate service providers and contracts to roll out updates ubiquitously is absurd.
It's not like Windows yet - Google is new to the OS game, and it'll be awhile before the industry adopts standards and regulations of firmware upgrades and updates. Right now it's left up to the service providers and hardware manufacturers, and Samsung happens to be last - someone had to be.
For me, Samsung has the best hardware, however. Froyo and gingerbread are coming. Be patient.

Its not the size of the firmware, its how its used. But that extra .1 would be nice
(Is it in yet?)
And everytime I hear the name froyo I feel the urge to launch a journey to find the OS to rule them all.
