MIUI-Dev Themes

Are you DLing to your PC? What is the full name of the file you are DLing? Is it adding a .zip to the end maybe?

-Mike

I have the Moto Droid with D1-MIUI. Is there a way to enable the on-screen keyboard? Not a fan of the slider.
Edit - Sorry - wrong thread

I have been applying some of the .mtz themes and have noticed they are not theming the icons like the .zip themes were. Is there anything different about the .mtz other than the extension instead of .zip?

All of the icons need to be in the icons folder. In the zip format some of the icons were in 2 different folders. You can take apart .mtz and copy all of the icons into the icons folder. I just realized that in the latest version of murdered out I accidentally forgot to delete the icons in the drawable finger folder, but they are all in the icons folder and all of the icons work perfectly.

I've tried that, and they still aren't working right. I have a feeling the themes all need to be re-worked for them to work properly. I'm not sure how, as I'm not a themer LOL.

For instance: the iPhone theme. Doesn't matter where the icons are (I've tried several configurations including your suggestion of all the icons in one folder) and no matter what, it just strips the phone of any theme whatsoever. It actually changed the icons (for the most part) back to the original stock android icons - no background.

Tenuis works in its original .zip format, but load it up as a .mtz, and it won't skin the icons.

Murdered out works very well in both formats.

This is all very frustrating, as the theming in the prior builds was so smooth and easy.

Sure is. I removed the .mtz files from the theme folder and put back in the .zip ones. I like Blue Steel the best, and not a one of the .mtz's I tried themed the icons for me. I don't even see an icons folder in the .mtz, so maybe that is the problem? Only one way to find out. :)

But I suppose I should learn how to theme this ROM. I learned how to do it on others like SS, BB, and Adamz, but now time to learn a new one.

For The Life of me I cannot get a theme to Apply. As a .mtz file they won't even show up on my phone. I then changed extensions to .zip . That made them show up on the phone, but when I press on the dot next to them to select the theme and hit ok it says "preparing new theme, please wait..." When it finishes and says Installation Complete, it doesn't ask me to reboot, and goes to the mainscreen. If I reboot or not, it doesn't matter. I've tried a dozen themes, and also re-flashed 11.26.1 to see if that would make a difference...

You're putting them inside the theme folder, correct?

correct. They are saying installation complete, but then it goes straight to the home screen and thats it. I've been rebooting although it doesnt ask me to.

I also have not messed with the keyboard everyone seems to be having issues with.

I suggest using the .mtz's because people are having issues with icons not being themed when using .zips. Go into Theme Manager and select choose theme. Mine weren't showing up earlier and I selected that and I guess it refreshed the list or something but my entire list of themes showed up.

You have to be running 0.12.18.0 to use the .mtz themes. Use the zips that are in the link for older versions.

I also can't get the .mtz files to show up. I put the .mtz files in the miui/themes folder but when I try to choose a theme from the theme manager they don't show up. When that didn't work, I chose load themes and went then clicked on miui/themes and the theme shows up there. I clicked on the specific .mtz file and it still wouldn't load or show up. Am I doing something wrong? How do I get them to show up in the TM?

btw i'm on 12.18

Many are having issues with the new .mtz format. Just use the .zip themes until things get figured out. They will work in 12.18.

I might have missed something, but whenever I go to "choose new theme," theme manager force closes. Is there a fix for this? I already installed a theme on the previous release, and it carried over fine. I'm able to switch between the themes I already installed, but I can't install new ones due to it FC'ing.

Dang, people seem to be having a lot of problems. My only issue is that when I apply a theme, my icons stay the same as they were on the theme I flashed from. I've tried going and selecting a theme's icons but it doesn't work for some reason.
