MIUI....how do you say it?

I call it butter.

My U.I. is really what I call it.

If yoiu think about it, nobody's UI is looking alike hence(MiUI) not yours!

Saying ME-wi or whatever is just uncomfortable. We all know you have good engrish skills.... lol

And you should lose a man-card for saying it like that. IMO

the first time i saw this rom i was watching a video made by some dude at droid life. he was pronouncing it "mew-ee" ..... it was the cheesiest, most queer thing to call such a great rom. it also reminded me of that stupid little pokemon. LAME-CITY. i decided right then and there that i would call it the way it is spelled. m i u i.

I pronounce it as a blend between Mye-wee and Maui, so I guess Mahye Wii

Almost as if you say MyWii as in, "this is MY (nintendo) Wii."

I'd like to know what the Chinese call it. I've always thought it was either Myoo-ee or Mee-yoo-ee, but according to the poster above that makes me a "queer" (sounds like someone isn't very secure with his manhood). If it were to be pronounced like Japanese it would be Mee-ooh-ee, but it's obviously Chinese not Japanese.

My-yoo-eye is clever (My UI), but that's a pretty blatant Americanization... I'd be surprised if that's how the Chinese say it.

I read on one of the MIUI Dev sites that it was My U I. I can't remember where. Fortunately I haven't had to call it anything because my world isn't filled with anyone who cares about Android like me. Didn't stop me from putting an Android sticker on my wife's car though (just in case I happen to drive it and not mine).

Anybody else out there have good laughs from words they read as a kid but didn't know how to pronounce until they tried to use them in conversation? Being a voracious young reader this used to happen to me all the time.

Pre-judas (prejudice) was the one that got me laughed at the hardest. I knew that it didn't mean before Christ was betrayed, but it seemed a pretty good reference anyhow :-)

i meant queer as in the original meaning of the word (odd, uncomfortable, blah blah blah) also, i was making reference to the sound of that particular pronunciation, not the people who say it that way.

looks like someone reads a little too much into things :)

and you're also assuming i'm a man.

MIUI is from China, yest it is written in English Letters. I believe they meant it to be pronounced M-I-U-I. English is the international language. And I'm sure they were clever enough to make a name that would be Universal to all countries it falls in.
