[MM Theme] 928Droid "Black Glass" for ESE81 Pure Stock Rooted Droids

I installed this theme yesterday and it completely broke my phone, everything and I do mean everything would FC the only thing I could do was receive calls. I don't know if it was the theme or Metamorph that caused all the problems.

Any ideas?

Download the latest version in Post #1 and try it again... I had the same problem also, not sure if it was a corrupt file in the theme, corrupt zip file, or the update from MM.

I rezipped the file and uploaded it shortly after that and it is OK now, even using the latest 1.9.8.5 MM.

ok - will give that a shot later

fyi, i like your theme better than that new darkedge theme... i'm sure that one is more comprehensive, and would look great on a 17"+ computer monitor, but for me it's hard on the eyes on the Droid

The DarkEdge UI theme is a TON of work..I have already looked at the files...they changed EVERY single image in the whole system, and I mean every one!

I agree that it is not for me either,..BUT DANG, that was a lot of impressive graphic work!!! I couldn't imagine how long it would take to do that! I wish I had a fraction of Matt's theme knowledge...ahhhhh....the cool stuff I could make for myself!!!

i'm trying out bb 1.0 w/ smoked glass for more than a few hours to really compare performance with "psr" since everybody seems to be touting bb as so fast and snappy

so far it is comparable, but i'm uncertain if battery life will be as solid

then i'll switch back to psr and fix the app thing like you mentioned... which, by the way, titanium is much better at actually restoring apps than mybackuppro - not that that's any news, but i can say firsthand now!

928 - do you have any updates coming out today? I'm going back to PSR and if you're about to have one I'll wait for that.

For me, BB has been comparable in speed, but not in battery usage. BB seems to run the battery down more (not dramatically, but noticable) than stock w/ theme. I didn't take the time to back it up with any official stats, but I had all of the same apps running and had very similar usage over my day or so of using BB. Obviously they use different kernels (bekit for BB and p3 for stock), but in both I used lv 1ghz.

Plus, as weird as this is, there's something principally nice about not being tied to any particular ROM/Dev and having it truly be "mine". Especially with all the ROM drama that comes up occasionally... :icon_eek:

Go for it, I just uploaded a small revision, didn't even change the version number...but pay close attention to the volume control screen and stuff like that....there are other small tweaks too. :-)

Yes I noticed those little differences - nice touches! The little things like that really help.

I made a few additional minor tweaks for myself that you may or may not be interested in seeing, but I'll post them anyway. :) I tweaked the status bar clock area some more - the status bar itself is still transparent, but not as transparent as yours. I'm obsessed with getting that clock area to fade, or "blend", into the background for some reason. I think it works well in portrait, but not great in landscape of course, though still readable. Also added round battery - always liked that.

I found that I still had the DarkEdge beautiful home skin after trying that theme out when it was released. So I brought in some blue notification icons to go with the blue that it has by default, plus I just like blue. I then converted the DarkEdge to a red version, and added in your "droid does" logo real small in the middle. It looks... okay. I tried to make it subtle so it wouldn't be too busy, but probably should've spread the two words out more. Obviously the red goes better with your overall theme, too.

Anyways, just tinkering, haven't even added back any icons or other widgets. Man I can see how this is a slippery slope into addiction messing with this stuff...

Well that might all be gone now as my SD card is evidently corrupt. I keep a backup drive that syncs between my computers, but hadn't moved that stuff over to it yet! Maybe it's a sign :)

Bummer, I did something similar myself a few weeks ago...too big of a hurry unplugging the USB cable. Lost half of my Cam pics and all of my videos :-(

bought a card reader and was able to copy over what i needed to and reformat and it seems to be working fine again

when i tried to copy, it told me there was a corrupt file that couldn't be copied, so maybe that was the problem
