more droid woes - battery

I honestly don't have any idea whats going on. Lemme give the short run down over the last couple weeks. Approx. 3 weeks ago I called verizon about two separate issues involving my droid 1 and my wife's droid 1. My screen had come loose and her phone would drop calls constantly. They offered to send out two CLNR's. This is where the headache begins. So over the last three weeks they have sent 4 phones. 2 for my line and one for my wife's. Each time a phone would come there would be some issue with it ranging from a loose screen, a stuck power button, or headphone jack issues. And each time it required another phone call to verizon.

So finally last week, I called after again receiving two bad phones. This time I didn't even activate them. The escalated me to tier 3 support. We go over the issues with the phones and they say "would you mind if we try a different phone" - at this point I don't care, I say sure, We just want working phones. (I have five lines on my account, 2 smart phones and three dumb phones)

So three boxes show up Monday. I open them and they are CLNR's Droid 2's. The other box had battery back's in it. So I unpacked them and went over them like the others. Physically they seemed okay. I activated them and installed the backup's and what not. Then I was irked to find out that our cases wouldn't work because they changed the front of the phones, so I went out and bought two cases yesterday. All was going well until now.

My phone is still working okay, but my wife's phone seems to have some issues. Issue 1 - Anytime she calls out or someone calls in, the phone locks up. Can't press any buttons ect. Have to do a battery pull. The other issue in the battery. I plug it in all night on the Home charger. Says fully charged then about half way through the day it just dies. Says the battery has 0%. I have swapped batteries between the two phones and get the same issue. I wiped her phone and reinstalled everything last night. Then she calls me work to tell me that it is doing all the above again. So now what? You guys have any suggestions for any fixes? I really don't want to call tech support AGAIN. I have spent countless hours on the phone with them and setting up phone's over the last couple weeks, I am just tired of it. Any help appreciated.

Wow, you folks have had a terrible experience. For what is worth, over the past two weeks I've read several comments from members who write about having the same issues you describe in your last paragraph. Unfortunately, I've not read of any fixes.

I'm sure my comments are not what you wanted to hear. Sorry.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I did a factory reset on her phone already. I was hoping that would fix the issue. I know everybody's like "OMG! I got a Droid 2 for my droid 1! " ect. But honestly, I really don't care. I am just tired of the headache and the hours spent on the phone. I really liked our Droid 1's and sadly, they just couldn't seem to send us any phones that were "like new" so they offered "like new" on the next level.

Now I should add. On her phone, it doesn't "always" lock up. It will do one of 4 things. 1 - completely lock up, screen black. 40% of the time, 2- Call screen locks up but display shows call information, but does not respond to touch or other commands. 30% of the time. 3- Call screen responds to touch, but does not perform the operation request (button lights up with touch, but nothing happens). 20% of the time. 4- works as intended. 10% of the time.

Someone on another forum suggested something to do with "services" and "bloatware" - can anyone elaborate?

Bloatware are the preinstalled apps like Amazonmp3, visual voicemail and others that are there for all the wrong reason. Not sure how changing services works.

Does she have a task killer on it? I just don't know where to start with those issues. Sorry Im fairly new to this.
