More Pics of Droid 3 Leaked

My point was more along the lines of "You're better off NOT having to deal with an OTA update". If you're rooted with an alternate recovery and custom rom installed, you shouldn't have to deal with one of those things, and why would you WANT to anyway? It'll just screw with your phone, if you did get it to install somehow.

I know what your point was, there are people out there that just don't want all the bloat crap but want the blur. They also don't do anything to the device other than what vzw pushes to them. My mom is one of these, she only rooted to delete the bloatware but she's gonna want gingerbread as soon as vzw starts to push it to the d2g's. Where on the other hand, I'm gonna wait until its rooted and has a rom or two pushed out until I update mine to gingerbread.

Very upset. I called Verizon back in January requesting this plan and they said fine no problem we are adding it for you. Turns out the rep who changed the plan just put me on the standard full price 1400 minute plan. Now I am stuck without the discounted plan and Verizon is doing nothing about it :(

I just switched to the x from the og droid and it's taken me a few days tko get used to the software keyboard but all in all it's not to terrible a shift. I will say that I hate blur more than I thought I would but I prefer the speed and screen ream estate alt more than i thought iwould as well. That being said if the droid three is vanilla android with a larger screen il pay retail if that is what it takes.

i just gave up an got a droid R2 three weeks ago and now i see this! dedicated numbers oh how i miss you

here's hoping third time's the charm with this guy. loved the D1, but it almost seemed "beta" with the weird amount of issues people experienced. not a fan of the D2, with the Blur and the headache of trying to make it a true Google experience, etc. Once I got used to the D2's keyboard, though, there was no turning back.

The D3 has alot of promise and potential. The chrome ring around the glass even looks like Moto might have done away with the metal rim, which means less chances of scratches showing.

I don't care about 4G, they're going to mess it up with tiered pricing. All I care about is the experience, speed and reliability.

If the Xoom is any indication, then there's a chance that the bootloader will be unlocked. I feel that so many of us who still own a D1 would quickly jump ship if this were the case. I can't see Moto leaving Blur off this device, however.

idk if this was commented on but the Xoom isn't attached to any carrier.

Carrier has nothing to do with what the mfg puts on the phone (as in blur, sense, android ui)....

while its never been confirmed, i find that hard to believe. seems that the PHONES are being locked down (and some encrypted) while the tablets are not.

leads me to believe the locking and encrypting is a result of pressure from the carriers
