Just as predicted, the Moto X for parts of Europe was officially announced today at the Motorola European press event. The UK, Germany and France will all be getting the Moto X on February 1st. The phone will initially only rollout in black and white, with Moto Maker customizations to come sometime in the future. The specs of the device are unchanged. Here's a recap,
  • Android 4.4.2
  • 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB of internal memory
  • 4.7-inch 1280 x 720 display
  • 10.5MP rear-facing camera
  • 2200mAh battery
The folks in Europe will have to pay a hefty premium to get this device. They are looking at a price of £380 or 399 euros (approximately $622USD) unlocked. Considering the U.S. version of the device sells for $399.99 right now, it's hard to fathom how well this device will do in these regions with the upcoming (and current) competition. Still, the device is an amazing piece of tech. Perhaps it's unique features will prove worth the extra price for some users.

399 EUR is cca. 545 USD. And that's with VAT (Sales tax, in EU 10 - 25% depending on the country).
