Motorola Android 2.2 Update Suspended

Take this for what it's worth (a random email), but we just received an word from someone who claims to have received FRG01 OTA, and then immediately following received a "security" patch for FRG22...

NO idea. Awaiting their response.

If that somehow turns out to be true, there is some funky stuff going on behind closed doors between Moto/VZW. FRG22 that CZ/p3 got us had the voice search issue, so it's not like that was perfect either... but still, if this turns out to be true, very very weird.

No offence to P3, but I don't think that was a fault of the build, just the port he made at the time, once he redid it, it functioned, and it happens from time to time.

I haven't had any issues with FRG22, however either I'm getting subliminal messages hearing about batt issues or it is having issues with it, seems the batt drains quite quickly for me. I'm recharging to 100 now, and will do a batt pull to lat the OS time it out.

I don't count my time today as an indication, as I did 2 rom flashes and kernals, plus surf, etc. which would be expected to take it down.

I hope I'm wrong, and if not, then I'll live with it until the next release, because the damn thing flies now!dancedroid

Eagerly awaiting Miami's report once he gets info on what is going on ....

It will get here, when it gets here....

I figured there would be some delay at one point or another. Oh well.... Droid is running fine for now...

I have noticed my battery is getting used up more than it did with 2.1, but I use 2 batteries and a backup charger, so I'm good.

2.2 is just WAY too fast and stable for me to go back

Updated to 2.2 this morning. Not going back. I don't know about battle drain as I have been using it in a car dock. I am going on vacation Sunday. But already planned ahead with getting an extra battery.

I cannot confirm this as of right now. I am told officially it is suspended. New build number is not available yet, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen.

We are continuing to follow this today and i'm expecting more info later this evening

I was just thinking of doing the manual upgrade but now might just wait for the next build. :S

Guy sent us a screenshot, tough to tell, but the kernel looks legit.

At least they are suspending the update to fix the problems... and not doing something really dumb like telling us our problems are because we are holding the phone wrong. No company would do something as idiotic as that. :icon_ banana:

I am still mad I wont be able to wifi tether so fk it it's time to root.

Has anyone else notice in Quadrant under System information, the max freq. says 800 Mhz and this is on the non-rooted FRG10B, which I manually updated last night. And no, I do not have any O/C kernel or O/C software installed.
