Motorola announces the Z2 Force Edition

interesting the US version is only getting 4 gigs ram while the different international versions are getting 6.

I've said it many times - so long as OEM's all tacitly agree (collude), they will trickle out the specs. They don't want to give you 6GB of ram today when 4GB might not be enough two years from now and you have to upgrade.

yep, US users are rich. they always upgrade after a year or two - not

LOL, you obviously weren't here 4-5 years ago when people couldn't wait to upgrade after only 12 months.

There is still a huge number of people that get new phones every 2 years thanks either to payment plans or subsidies (or both). The fact that the vast majority of people have rarely paid full-retail upfront has always supported higher prices and more frequent upgrades.

Agree. HUGE number. I look at someone with a 25 month old phone and I'm like... "Really? Does that thing even work, brah?"

that is actually what I tend to do, get a new phone every two years :) though I almost got the note 7 last year after a year with the note 5. fortunately at$t's website was down when I went to order it and gave me a chance to change my mind. turned out to be a good thing.

Looking forward to your thoughts & impressions once you get your new phone PereDroid (and anyone else that gets one).

Should I do an unboxing video? (Answer: no. I hate those!)

No, I agree. We know what's in the box and what the phone looks like. I want to know what you (and other new owners) think about it coming from other phones.

Just got to handle a Z2 Force at Best Buy. Wow that is one thin phone! Unfortunately it wouldn't get past initial setup do I couldnt really play with it.

I would estimate that with an Incipio off grid back it won't be much thicker than a pixel xl.

I was just at Verizon and they won't have any to look at until the 10th. No new Mods until then either, at least not in the store. Did get to checkout the Z2 Play for a few minutes. Seems like a nice phone, and felt thinner than the original. I guess that's the new trend....thinner and thinner.

have you ever noticed at Best Buy is when you need help, nobody is around but when you don't need help, just about every clerk in the store asks if you need help?

anyway, I was in BB yesterday and they did not have one on display.

I'm banned from Best Buy for life, so I wouldn't know. [emoji3].
