Motorola Droid A855 Upgrade to Droid A955 Keypad?

"This picture shows what I thought would be the actual keyboard. I was under the impression the "keyboard" was just glued to the phone and a ribbon cable (from the ribbon harness) plugs into it. Are you saying the ribbon is permanently attached to the keyboard and the keyboard is more than just what is shown?"

Yeah, thats just a rubber overlay that has small metal circles behind each key to make the connection on the actual keys. You can peel that up to have a look on your D1.

How is the size comparison to the original keyboard? Is it exactly the same dimensions?

I'm really intrested in this idea as well. now that the droid is 2 years old, can we go in and replace the processor or graphics card or video card and if one of the devs could make a rom (or whatever the name of the proper files are) for it would it work?, I know that it would be an almost complete overhaul of the phone and be pretty expensive but would it work?

I don't really think this is possible. A phone is not really like a computer in the fact that you can pull the proc and put a different one in. Nor do I see why you would want to. By the time you got it accomplished it would cheaper and better to get a new phone.

Haha tru and I know this is off topic but I've heard a lot about the d1 and how the boot loader is unlocked and how the d2 and dx and how theirs is not
If they can still root and overclock and flash roms what's so special about the unlocked boot loader on the d1 ?

You cant complete a ROM with a locked bootloader because you dont have access to the kernel, etc.

Now, with that said. I have the X and have had the D1....and there is nothing I cant do with my X that I could do with the D1, and my X blows it away in performance.

So the dx can't be made to run at like 1.5 or 2ghz

And is there any possible way to unlock the bootloader

You can still overclock, but you have to manually (with an app) do it each time you boot.

Best you can get is 1.45ghz, which alot wont run....mine actually runs pretty stable at 1.45ghz. I bested quadrant scores a little over 1900.

And if the bootloader will ever be cracked, dont know.

Damn I thought it would be more Than
Do u notice a different btw overclocking and running on stock
