Motorola M Boot Logo - Customize and Remove

Is this possible for the X? I've seen some posts for other phones, but when I tried to flash an SBF file for a Skull image I got the critical error at the boot loader. Phone works fine though, but the image isn't my SKULL! Is there another way to do this on the X?
