Motorola Officially Unveils the Moto X Play Smartphone

Just a moment ago we shared Motorola's announcement of the new Moto X Style smartphone. This morning's big announcement from Motorola also revealed another Moto X device: the Moto X Play. This device is a slightly smaller phone than the Moto X Style. Strangely it has a larger battery and a less powerful processor as well. Here's the breakdown:

• 5.5-inch 1080p display
• Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 1.7GHz octa-core processor
• 3,630mAh battery
• 21-megapixel rear camera
• 5 megapixel front camera
• 2GB of RAM
• Dual SIM version available
• SIM + microSD integration card slot
• Android 5.1.1

The Moto X Play is going to show up in August and will be $300 to $400 less than other premium Android devices. As you can see above, this story comes with a video of the device!

*Update - it doesn't look like this device will be coming to US markets anytime soon, if at all.
