Motorola Shadow: Would you prefer this keyboard?

Meh. Physical keyboard is a waste IMHO.

You know, I got the Droid for the fact that is has a physical keyboard, but I've found out that I never use it. Could be the fact that the keyboard is so flat that it makes it really hard to use (coming from a Blackberry Curve), but I have found that I have become accustomed to using the on-screen keyboard and I really like it.

Same here. I came from the HTC Tilt and Tilt 2 and did NOT want to loose my physical keyboard... But between the poor design (it should have never made it past R&D) and Swype I never have a need to open it now. I'd say LOOSE the physical keyboard(s) in exchange for the inclusion of Swype and use the extra room for a larger battery.

Why the hell don't phone makers put the Dpad on the left?!? It would make games so much better.

If you using the correct Emulators, then you can use "Upside-down mode, and have the D-Pad on the left! :icon_ banana:

I personally like this design, and hope that it does come out as the next DROID! Just not too soon. They have to release it when all the current droid owners are available for an upgrade (and on Verizon of course), or it will fall to the way-side like the Nexus 1 is currently. BUT...either put the full chin on it (like the current Droid), or get rid of that darn strap attatchment. That is the only thing ugly about that picture.

I Hope the OP doesn't mind, but I added a picture of it to his original post. It's nicer to look at than a link to somewhere else :p Hope you don't mind OP.

use to use the physical keyboard all the time, this was before I discovered swype. if the physical keyboard was better I'd use it more. I use to be able to fly on my old Voyager keyboard

I think it would make typing easier than on the current layout. However it reminds me of the Audiovox XV6700.

Minus the wrist strap...I think its bad ass maybe if they made it black and red and move the d pad to the other side that would be even better.

This is me completely, even coming from a Curve.

Do you use Swype? So much easier.

I would like a little more definition between the keys, but not at the sacrifice of shoving the d-pad that far in. I'm not a person that uses a keyboard for a living, but I like both the hard and soft on my Droid just fine.
