Motorola Targa/Bionic – Targa Sufficiently Ladened With Advanced Technology

^I agree 100%. As a phone, probably Nokia and maybe Blackberry makes the same or better phones that function good as phones.

Gotta love the Droid 3....man I can't wait. Oops....did I say that? It's kinda funny because if you look at the digitizers and stuff that were recently released for the Droid 3 they are also labeled as Targa....hmm....oddly they do NOT mention Bionic anywhere on these.

Check it out for yourself.

and I quote "OEM Motorola Droid 3, Motorola Targa LCD and Digitizer Assembly" do you see Bionic written here?

+1 on that one!

I agree. I just hope they stop the locking down.

According to a recent statement they are going to have unlocked bootloaders on 2011 devices or something to that affect. Meaning I think they are going to do just that. While HTC recently announced that they are moving towards locking theirs.....I don't get it at all.

That's been identified multiple times as a mistake on the part of that site. Either it was an accident or they did it on purpose to increase traffic to their site due to the Bionic fiasco. Many people have heard of the Targa and might be searching for information on it. Hardly anyone has heard of the internal code name for the Droid 3 - Solana.

What Motorola is going to be doing with the bootloader is what they did with the Xoom. They are going to have it as unlockable/relockable so that we can do our overclocking and what not but if we have to send it back to Moto, we better have that bootloader locked. On another note, I literally can't wait for the targa. I am out of replacements from Asurion and I am now stuck with a garbage :blackberry:.

I'm not a veteran here or in the industry but I just cannot see Motorola renaming the Bionic and putting it into a form factor that is already in their line up ala the hump back unit.
It would be like GM renaming the Camaro a Tahoe. It does not make good business product line sense. To me.

Then the form factor thing. Retooling the bionic to release looking like one of the phones already out after all the hoopla would be shoddy also.

So......... what I see is a different looking phone than the one that was displayed on their site and still named Bionic with more horse power.

They have something up their sleeves. Perhaps a thinner form factor and industry leading tech we have not heard of yet.

I just hope it's not all plastic. I like the aluminum screen frame durability.

If you think about it, Motorola is already invested in getting the word out on the bionic. Besides the name being bad ass for a phone, they've spent a good deal hyping a phone that would not see the light if the name dies with the hardware. So with ad dollars already spent on "bionic" why not keep the name?

Most people have no idea about the Bionic. There's been no ads and the only time it's really been put it in the spotlight is at CES. They're going to use the same name. That's why they have a press release saying it's going to have improvements and a new form factor.

It appears who ever wrote this "release" uses English as a second language. It is so poorly written and does not contain any real information like processor and RAM specs. It's just another scam.
