Motorola to Slow it's Product Releases

Now what they need to do is work with Verizon about having an easier early upgrade program for Motorolla owners.

DROID RAZR
DROID RAZR MAX
DROID 3
DROID 4
BIONIC

Pretty sure they all came out in the last 8 months. Verizon should offer the phones at the upgrade rate for all owners of previous models released within the last year.

Charge is made by Samsung. Also add the DX2.

As a droid 3 owner I concur.... I was quite taken back how the Droid 4 was announced barely 6 months after the Droid 3 hit the stores. Granted I see the differences in the Bionic and the Razr but I still consider the Razr a slap in the face to Bionic owners.

It is we who drive the market. I've been with Verizon for 2 years and have had 3 different phones. What other industry can post those sales numbers? My laptop was cheaper than my phones, yet it is 2 years older. My car is 14 years old, heck I've had the same wife for 30 years! But I want a new phone, and I want it now! Makes no sense. We should blame ourselves for creating the beast. Moto and Verizon just deliver the goods like drug dealers. We snatch them up, than complain when the next newest, greatest thing shows up the next day. We complain as were plopping our cash on the counter to buy!

For the number of cell phones going out the doors, a few unhappy folks wanting unlocked boot loaders barely makes a dent.

U dont think the maxx is a slap in the face to razr owners my coworker is pissed. I see him charging his phone all the time everytime i see him its plugged up. Now the same phone comes out with a massive battery and is still thin i dont even own it and i still like what are they thinking.

I agree, but in my opinion, the small group of people (relatively speaking) who want an unlocked bootloader should be accomodated. It would not hurt sales (again, my opinion). I think it may actually help their sales figures to make their devices more dev friendly.

I havent even looked at the Razr Maxx as I returned my Razr for the Galaxy Nexus a week after I got it. But now that you brought it to my attention all I can say is wow....

Not in the least. Nobody in the RAZR forums is upset or even giving it a second thought. Reason being is that the RAZR performs excellent otb with good battery. Whats odd is that others (who don't own it) are upset about it.

I do have to say there would be an uproar if battery life was really poor or if the MAXX had a different processor, more RAM, etc etc. But right now I think most if not all of us are pretty darn happy and not feeling 'wronged" by Moto. The Droid RAZR is that good of a product.

Anyway go check out the RAZR forums nobody is upset except other people :)

What we need is a mobile OS with...
-quality controlled ecosystem (with a set of standards)
-good hardware
-good software
-decent screen sized phones

I wish palm would have turned into something. What choice do we really have these days? iOS or Android, are those the only two competitors. We need something new.

Come now, we also have WP7 ;)

Actually, that would be a decent alternative. You get the hardware diversity android has, but with strict guidelines.

I believe when WP7 first came out it was required to have 1ghz cpus with 512 MB of RAM.

If I ever wanted to leave android WP7 would be my next choice. Assuming Bada is not here in the US.

Yeah, I'd choose WP7 over iOS.
