Just connect it to your PC via USB. You'll be able to transfer movies to your S3 just like it's a USB drive either in MTP (media device) or PTP (camera) mode. The video player that Samsung uses in Touch Whiz plays far more file formats than the stock Android player, including DIVX and XVID. If you have some formats that it doesn't recognize, MX Player and MoboPlayer both do a great job with a variety of formats.
You could also remove your microSD card (if you're using one), put it in an adapter, slide that into your PC, and transfer files onto it if you wanted to. Then, after putting the SD card in the S3, you could keep them on the SD card or transfer them to the internal memory. I keep my videos (and most of my other media files) on my 64GB microSD card and save the internal memory for apps since the S3 doesn't support the moving of apps to the SD card.

This brings me to my movie questions.
What is the best way to add a movie to your S3 (intend to watch it on flights)?
Do you download it to your computer and transfer it as described above?
Or is it easier to download it from a site directly to the S3? And if so what site is the best?
Also if you plan on not having more than 2 movies on the phone at any time and do not plan to store much else on it, is 16GB enough or do you recommend the the 32?

If we're talking about legitimate, non-pirated downloads - which is all we can talk about on this site - most of your options are going to involve downloading directly to the phone. Google's Play Store offers movies, and you can also download most UltraViolet digital copies (which come with some Blu-ray and DVD releases) to your phone through the Flixster app (Paramount movies seem to be about the only ones that don't link to Flixster). I think there are a handful of digital copies that work with Android that require you to go through a computer, but there aren't many. If you have another means of legitimately downloading movies, whether you download directly to your phone or download to your computer and transfer it to your phone will depend in great part on your internet download speeds. If you get faster speeds on your computer, then download on your computer and transfer the file to your phone. If you get faster speeds on your phone, and have unlimited data (if you're downloading over mobile data, because downloading movies will eat up a tiered plan in no time), then download directly to your phone.
Most digital downloads of movies (particularly those intended for mobile devices) are between 700MB and 1.5GB, so 16GB is plenty of space for two movies. Even if you have high-quality versions that run over 2GB a piece, there's still plenty of space with 16GB for more than two movies. And you also have a microSD card slot where you can store many more files if you want/need to.

Obviously I do not know much about this but is Netflix only streaming? Or can you download a movie from them before you fly to watch on a flight?
Netflix is streaming only.
To connect the S3 to a TV, you'll need a MHL cable (it connects to the micro USB port and has a HDMI port). But with the S3, Samsung changed the number of pins in the connection for MHL transfer, so old MHL adapters will not work. You'll need one that has the newer specs, and so far, the only one I've seen that works with the S3 is the OEM adapter from Samsung which is listed here. You'll find a lot of MHL adapters out there for much cheaper, but at this point, none of them work with the S3. I'm sure there will be some third-party adapters out on the market that work with the S3 before too much longer. With the MHL adapter, you'll be able to mirror your S3 to the TV over HDMI, including watching movies.
Since the S3 doesn't support USB mass storage, I'm not sure that a TV would be able to read it. I'm not 100% sure on that, and it would definitely depend on the TV. On my recently purchased 55" LED TV (it's less than a month old), the phone will charge while connected to the USB port, and the phone says it's connected as a media device, but the TV cannot read anything on the phone. I'd venture to say that most TVs won't be able to read it, but it's possible that some can. If a TV did read it, it would read it like a flash drive, so the TV would have to support the playback of the video formats you have on your phone. With a MHL adapter, everything is done on the phone and streamed to the TV.

The one thing with the S3 is, for you to transfer a movie file you will have to copy and paste it to the folder you want it to go to. On my S3 I have a Movie folder where I copy and paste my movie transfers to.

The MHL adapter can be found other places, but make absolutely sure it's compatible with the SGS 3. If it lists the SGS 2 or a large number of phones (more than 3 or 4 at this point in time), it's not compatible and the seller is lying, confused, or simply dishonest. Don't get it.

Yea, Samsung screwed the pooch on this one, I have two MHL adapters that are useless with the S3.

The new pins that impact MHL shouldn't have any bearing on OTG cables. My OTG cable works just fine. It's just a cheap one from Amazon.
