mp3 earpiece

Hi,
I use google voice and receive emails of any messages left which have an mp3 attached to them. If I use the music player on the droid I hear the message through the speaker.
Is there a way to use the music player or something else to play the mp3 message through the earpiece instead of the speaker?

I'm using motorola s9hd bluetooth headset, the mp3 from my vm will work just fine
