Multimedia Desktop and Car Dock for Thunderbolt

On a side note:

I used to put my aux cable in the headphone jack to use my droid as a hands free device while driving. when I plug my TB into the car dock and accept a call I can hear the person through my speakers, but they cannot hear me. Any one else notice this?

This is like...the major reason I bought this Car dock...Because my OGDroid worked flawlessly in this regard.

Any of you guys that own the car dock- think it's feasible to get it to mount on the vent with a clip with a little workbench modification, or is it too big? I've got a vent mounted holder that I used with my droid 1, but it's too narrow to fit the TB. I was hoping to be able to somehow combine the 2 of them and get the best of both worlds- mount close at hand w/charging built right in. Just can't tell from the pics what the back looks like for sure. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Or a close up pic or 2 ;)

Off topic ->

That theme in your sig is sessy. I look forward to seeing honeycomb on my TB!

Once clockwork gets fixed or raid zero gets ported over and a really good sense free ROM comes out (project elite) I'm going to give it a try. Until then, I'm not touching the system partition of this phone again. I already had 1 panic filled night until 4 am. on the thunderbolt irc channel after a failed attempt at a simple adb push left me without a working market and the clockwork backup wouldn't restore. Then the phone wouldn't boot up and I had to reload everything from scratch - not fun. Just glad there were some really knowledgeable people still on there in the middle of the night.

Car Mode ???

Okay, Stupid Question from the new TB owner ... I got my car dock today, slapped it to my windshield (missing my D1 already) and dropped in the TB. Then wiggled the TB. After some more goofing I decided it actually *was* i there correctly since it was charging and waited ... For nothing. The phone was still in portrait mode (yes, 'auto-rotate' in enabled, but the homescreen stays in portrait. BAD TB !) and I did not get any screen for any Car Home app of any sort pre-loaded in the phone (like the D1) ... At all. Nothing. What gives?

The phone will "click" into place and the car dock app will start. If that isn't happening, then you may have not put it in correctly/enough, our it is defective.

Sent from my ADR6400L using DroidForums App

the car dock is a lil tricky. i dont want to push to hard cuz i dont want to break anything or scratch it but it does take a lil extra push to get her seated correctly. i freaking love how it lines up perfect so that i can use it as a dash cam. gives me more proof for work of how people drive stupid. i have one of those call if im driving stupid stickers on my truck :(

Anyone have a solution for the Car Dock/AUX port issue and making phone calls?

With my Droid X, it somehow was able to make phone calls with the phone in the dock and the headphone jack plugged in to my radio's AUX port. With the Thunderbolt, if I have it plugged in to my radio's AUX port, I can hear the person through my radio, but they cannot hear me. (It's as if the phone is looking for a microphone on the AUX cable and turns off the microphones on the phone.)

The only thing I can think of is to use a bluetooth for phone calls, but that is not really desireable.

I just retested this by calling my wife. I put the phone in the dock, plug in the stereo 3.5mm cable into the phone and my car's AUX port. I call my wife and can hear her. I talk, she gets nothing. I shout, she gets nothing. I toggle Mute on/off, she hears nothing in either mode. I hit speakerphone and she can hear me, but she no longer comes through the car stereo. Getting frustrated!

does anyone know where to find the Desktop Charger? it seems to have dropped off the face of the earth :/ Verizon Wireless shows it out of stock online and none of the stores I check have it. is it possible that it's been discontinued already and something better is coming out?

I drive alot and this is a problem for me. I am waiting for the update and hoping it solves it but if not I will have to get the mic you found. This feature worked just fine on my D1 so I am guessing it will be an update and fixed but who knows. Did your prerelease one work in the car or didn't you have to dock to try?
