Music Collection

Normally I would just lurk for the answer to my question, but people are dumb and ask the same question over and over and google gets saturated with the same result.

Just got a droid 3, have the generic music program, winamp, and music.google app on there with a 16gb microsd card. Originally I was using music.google streaming but then it chewed through my data plan so I had to stop. I manually loaded a bunch of albums/artists on my microsd, but now they are being automatically deleted! I don't know how to stop it, and it keeps deleting my favorite (no, not the ones I don't listen to at all) albums over and over again so I have to re-up them and it's starting to become a chore.

Please help!

If you have a google music account, just go through your music and longpress on albums / songs and hit "Make available offline" and then set it to only DL through Wifi.

Not to be a xxxx or anything, but that was the least useful response I have ever seen. I know how to use google music. Please read my post.

One of these programs or the droid itself is automatically making space available by deleting important data that I put on there via usb/computer, and I have no idea how to shut it off. Bout to delete winamp and music.google.

Maybe just maybe, not to be a xxxx but if you haven't tried the method Iv'e described, it's google music deleting the music you already have in the cloud because you didn't request it be available offline.

So did you try the method I mentioned or just put me off as some xxxx who doesn't know how Gmusic works?

Just close it... proven to be a huge waste of my time anyway. Should have figured this android community only knows the most basic and generic knowledge that pops up as a first result in google. Hurumph

Where are you putting your music? What folder?

And Google musics cached folder is not media/audio so I wouldn't imagine it would be deleting anything.

I have the same problem. Google is deleting my music in the cloud all the time. And this method mentioned here doesn't work for me neither. So why are you going to close this thread? Would be a more effective forum, if problems could be resolved
